  1. This is exactly why I like Cruise Critic so much. Different opinions, different strokes for different folks. Our group has taken numerous cruises and experienced many, many beautiful beaches. It was our opinion that this was not even close to our previous beach visits over the many years of cruising and probably about one of the worst. Yes it was safe, yes the staff was very friendly and yes there was music and also yes there was trash if you sat back under the trees by the end of the beach. For us this was not a good experience as on this same trip we had previously been to Paradise Beach in Cozumel and this beach and pool was very clean and nice. Check their site for a pretty beach.

  2. Jan 13, 2013 we cruised on Celebrity and Falmouth, Jamaica was one of the ports of call. In the very nice, new port shopping area there were individuals selling trips to Red Stripe Beach and they said that we could charge it directly to our Celebrity sea pass card. The price of $24 per person was a bit high for transportation only but we felt that since Celebrity was endorsing this by allowing it to be charged to our sea pass then it must be a very nice beach. What a disappointment....... it was about a 15 minute ride and when we arrived at the entrance with a locked gate and barbed wire and the gate opened to a dirt road into the woods it was not inviting and a bit concerning. It was approximately 10a and they were already out of chairs to rent at $5 a chair. The ladies selling at the port said that there was shade available but they neglected to explain that you would have to sit in the underbrush with the litter to get some shade. The toilets and showers stopped working and the place was really a dump.
