  1. We got off the Nieuw Statendam on Aug. 27 and had been quarantined 10 days due to Canadian rules on quarantine.  We received our FCC yesterday.  So there is hope but patience is needed.  The expiration date on the FCC was adjusted to one year from yesterday.

  2. We cancelled our July cruise on March 12.  Our refund showed on our cc today with a date that it had been processed on May 29.  It was for all deposit and prepayments.  We have a second reservation for the same cruise which has not shown.  We did not call Holland America or file a dispute with the cc.  So there is hope that the refunds are coming.

  3. We were on the Maasdam in October and had the same problem with the Sel de Mer dinner.  We had prepaid for the meal.  I had an email from the Mariner Society saying it was included, but I was not able to resolve the issue on board.  Once we were home I wrote to Holland American and the discount was refunded to us.  So my advice is to enjoy the meal and if you do not get the discount write once you are home.

  4. We were also on the Kon Tiki Voyager.  We booked the Air France flight at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 14.  Our Hal transfer was at 4 a.m. and after we got to PPT we had to wait until 4:30 for the check in windows to open, but we were like 6th in line.  We did have Business Class tickets so were given a pass to the priority lounge which is very comfortable, has food, and also showers for someone doing a day of sight seeing before flying home.  I had heard on the ship from someone that they purchased from Air Tahiti Nui a 4 hour pass to the lounge for $60 with the intention of showering and having a comfortable place to wait.  That might be an option to check out too.  Leaving the night before is an excellent option, but when I checked that out with Holland America early in the booking process that option was not allowed as they were not sure they would dock in time.  That changed as time went on but we had already booked the 7:30 a.m. flight..

  5. From checking the roll call it looks like you are on the 10/14-10/28. WE are on the 9/10-10/14. There are no ship tours offered on the 14th, but what people on the roll call have done are book day rooms, find private tours, or hire a car. We changed our flight to an early morning flight as we do not have the charter flight for the 9/10 sailing. Before we took the early flight I did find tours that would pick you up at the pier, give a full day tour, and leave you at the airport around 7 at night. The roll call is long but if you search thru it you will find tours, hotels, etc. that people are doing on the 14th. I would imagine these same thing would be available on 10/28.
