Bernard's is the best tour company on the island. Ask for tour guide "Mailman"....
Yes mailman! Totally forgot his name- I was calling him by his real name the whole trip- I should have known I would forget. He was great!

My husband and I (age 40) were recommended to use Bernard's tours by my (20's) Sister and bil. They had a blast. We had a blast. Highlight of our cruise!

From what I understand, you are only supposed to have 4. I believe you could be asked to have some of your party leave the cabana if they felt you were abusing the rule. We had 7 in our group and just rotated who the 4 in the cabana were, and we tipped our attendant $45. We were in one on Nellie's and loved it.

Did you end up in this cabin, SATJS? I am deciding between this or another on deck 14, For my husband, 16 year old son and I.

If you do not get a cabana, you can get a chair and if you are early enough, also a shell shade thing. You can drag them yourself, but they are heavy. The people who work there will set you up comfortably for a tip. If you get a cabana, your attendant will set you up with chairs on the beach as well. We had 6 of us in the cabana, but I figured we could rotate time at the beach chairs so I only asked for 2 and around noon some people were looking for chairs and I was the only one using the beach, so I gave one up. They were clearly relieved so I guess there weren't any chairs available anywhere else on the beach.

I was thinking maybe it was a "peace and quiet" issue, but 4 year olds are just as loud as 2 year olds! It must be a safety thing.

I loved my cabana and think they would be awesome for the under 3 because they have a more of a contained area. Maybe they are worried about them falling down stairs because there isn't a baby gate, and cement and rock landings & walls at the bottom of the stairs ( or the ocean at the bottom of otw cabana stairs.)

My answer may not help if things have changed... My cruise is 2/2015. I booked my cabana in may 2014, the day someone on cruise critic notified us on roll call that they had been able to start booking excursions. Knowing they sold out fast online, I signed on asap and got a cabana on Nellie's beach. I am in an inside cabin on Oasis.

I need opinions on the best time to book the zip line? We have a cabana on Nellie's. Is it better to go right off the ship, before it gets hot, busy, other reasons? Or better to get settled, relax, go for a swim, and look forward to the zip line before or after lunch?

Was#9 on bare foot or Nellie?

I enjoyed gluten free items on Allure last year. Things were not marked gf. I had to ask, they had to check. But there was some good stuff.

I booked my cabana the day they became available online in May, for my February cruise. I believe they were sold out online within 2 days.

Have any of you gone to Labadee on a rainy day? What did you do? I have a Nellie's beach cabana for February 2015/ there are 7 of us, hoping the 2 teenage boys will be happy enough with umbrellas.... If they get out of the water!

I heard if someone presses all the elevator buttons for fun.... you hit the button 2 more times and it un-selects the floor... haven't had a chance to try it....

Here is a secret about finding your way around to your stateroom when you're not sure where you are on the ship. I have not been on the Oasis class, but this is valid for all the others classes so I believe it may follow suit.
THE CARPET in the elevator banks is different colors on the 4 different quadrants of the ship. Forward port/starboard & AFT port /starboard.
One bank is green & pink and the other is pink & navy. The pink is on OPPOSITE sides. So if you see pink & green & know YOUR cabin is in Navy then you know you're on the wrong end.
See the photo below. Don't go by the hallway carpet. It's the carpet by the elevator/stairwells.
You can see what I mean if you look closely to the pink front & navy far end of this photo.
Another helpful hint is how to keep track of your photos. If you would like to remember what day & which port you are at start by taking a photo in the elevator first thing in the morning and you'll see this......
Lastly, if you are in the buffet & see the sign for this tropical beverage, DRINK IT! It's sooooo good!
HAPPY CRUISING!!
Thank you!

Still following! Thanks again, Mark. I am usually caught up in my own head when dining or shopping, and your review is making me think of how I should be more aware of others and show I care. I am inspired. I have about 9 months before my cruise, so plenty of time to practice being thoughtful like you and Mona. Then I will tell people on Oasis M&M say hi!

Advice: share your experience on CC when you're done!!! :)
My first cruise last year was handled by a group travel agent, we had reminders sent to us with simple, not overwhelming instructions. I thought planning on my own might be difficult, but since I'm going on a sister ship, I feel pretty confident. I am now addicted to cruising and wish I could go all the time. What ship and where are you going? We are going on the Oasis (Royal Caribbean) and taking the Western Caribbean itinerary I. Feb 2015!
