  1. If you do not get a cabana, you can get a chair and if you are early enough, also a shell shade thing. You can drag them yourself, but they are heavy. The people who work there will set you up comfortably for a tip. If you get a cabana, your attendant will set you up with chairs on the beach as well. We had 6 of us in the cabana, but I figured we could rotate time at the beach chairs so I only asked for 2 and around noon some people were looking for chairs and I was the only one using the beach, so I gave one up. They were clearly relieved so I guess there weren't any chairs available anywhere else on the beach.

  2. I loved my cabana and think they would be awesome for the under 3 because they have a more of a contained area. Maybe they are worried about them falling down stairs because there isn't a baby gate, and cement and rock landings & walls at the bottom of the stairs ( or the ocean at the bottom of otw cabana stairs.)

  3. Here is a secret about finding your way around to your stateroom when you're not sure where you are on the ship. I have not been on the Oasis class, but this is valid for all the others classes so I believe it may follow suit.

THE CARPET in the elevator banks is different colors on the 4 different quadrants of the ship. Forward port/starboard & AFT port /starboard.

One bank is green & pink and the other is pink & navy. The pink is on OPPOSITE sides. So if you see pink & green & know YOUR cabin is in Navy then you know you're on the wrong end.

See the photo below. Don't go by the hallway carpet. It's the carpet by the elevator/stairwells.

You can see what I mean if you look closely to the pink front & navy far end of this photo.

Another helpful hint is how to keep track of your photos. If you would like to remember what day & which port you are at start by taking a photo in the elevator first thing in the morning and you'll see this......

Lastly, if you are in the buffet & see the sign for this tropical beverage, DRINK IT! It's sooooo good!

    HAPPY CRUISING!!

    Thank you!

  4. Advice: share your experience on CC when you're done!!! :)

My first cruise last year was handled by a group travel agent, we had reminders sent to us with simple, not overwhelming instructions. I thought planning on my own might be difficult, but since I'm going on a sister ship, I feel pretty confident. I am now addicted to cruising and wish I could go all the time. What ship and where are you going? We are going on the Oasis (Royal Caribbean) and taking the Western Caribbean itinerary I. Feb 2015!
