On the gangway boarding now. Key West and bahamas are out. Cozumel, Costa Maya and Isle Rotana are in
-
Yes on all accounts.
each person has their own account, on their own card. OR you can set up multiple people on one card.
you can get a key card at guest services, all parties must go together

I was able to change out a name for one person in the cabin 2 days before final payment, no fee.
-
First off, where are you going and where from. NOT EVERY PORT HAS HAD ZIKA.
No need to skip it if you aren't going near zika

Interesting.
So in other words...we won't be able to outrun it. [emoji23][emoji23] (that was a joke before someone corrects me)

LOL.
Exactly. But it's also an interesting thing to consider, most ships can go faster than they do, so they can change ports and go to one that's further out by going a bit faster, the Dream... not so sure.

I had inside the first two cruises, and will never go back. It's not just the balcony, but also the fact that the door is a floor to cieling window. The room feels bigger. Now we are trying different types of balconies to see what we like. Next is the L cabin on this sunday.
For us it's worth it. We mostly use it at night, since we are night owls.

Visit the National Hurricane Center website for up to date info. I am in South Florida and there is a tropical wave (not a hurricane) headed our way by the weekend. They are predicting heavy rain and perhaps high winds, but the National Hurricane Center will give you updates two or three times daily.
No one said anything about a hurricane.
As of right now, it's a 70% chance to bee upgraded to a named storm (tropical storm first) within 48 hours

We leave Sunday on the Dream and I'm hoping for a reroute too.

Same cruise and with the propulsion issues, I wonder what will happen. The Dream has reportedly not been able to get up to full speed or it probably wouldn't be an issue, just going around, key West is tuesday, then we'd for the bahamas, a week after its expected to hit. But with choppy waters and and slow boat... no clue.

I too sail sunday, but hey anywhere isnfine, don't like cozumel, but I can always restock the medicine cabinet cheap

Don't understand why you have to cancel.
Agreed, why do you have to cancel, the baby will be there when you get back.. or is it yours?

My wife and I are booked on a b2b on Magic in January when I get back from deployment. Cruise isn't totally paid off yet but almost. What are some of the best ways to stretch my dollar as far as I can without feeling like I'm really losing out on the cruise experience? Thanks for your help!

Cheers is expensive, but if you are a drinker, and she is, it's worth it, my first cruise I spent 120 Bucks day one on drinks.
Buy by the bucket if you drink beer, ask for unopened, and save em.
Skip the excursions from carnival, if you want to do one, you can usually buy it for 50% direct, but don't miss the ship.
Skip souvineers.
Pre pay gratuities, easier for me to work into the budget as I pay off the cruise than to have a lump charge.
Look for discount gift cards, Verizon let's you use points to buy them, grocery stores, and AAA AARP, often have them.
Use your star card for gift cards ( non military won't get it) 10% off first purchase, so if you don't have one, that's 10% off your cruise.
Book early saver hopefully you did, and watch for price drops, we once had over 800 in on board credit on a Sept booking.

On our last cruise, we had cheers, and plan to do this again:
First day on board, pick your favorite bar, for us, it was the casino bar. We talked with the bartenders, and found out only one of them was usually at the casino bar, the others rotated more. I palmed him a 20 on the first night after 2 or 3 drinks, and he was our bartender all cruise long. We also tipped a dollar on a few of our drinks, and day 4, I palmed him another 20, as well as when we were leaving the ship on the last day.
We NEVER hit 15 drinks, we never waited, even when there was a crowd, he spotted us, and poured and handed our drinks to us over the crowd (he had memorized our foliio number and never needed our cards). I found Orchata, and he poured me full glasses with ice, and wrote it in as a long island (typically sold as as single shot seperate from mixed drinks) My wife was able to go get drinks for both of us. He made sure we were taken care of, and we took care of him.
Yes, we spent an additional 100 or so total on him, but we recieved far more than 100 in "extra's" and the service. I'll let you know if it works agian on next week's cruise.

Some great information already, thank you everyone!! So the ship allows up to 15 alcoholic drinks per day? Is that 15 per person or 15 for the both of us combined?? Will each of us have our own card, or will we just use the same card for both of us? Not trying to sound like an alcoholic LOL, just wanting to be sure.
You will each have your own card, and each of you gets 15 alcoholic drinks per day. They card is not just your onboard spending account card, but also room key, and the card you will use to get on and off of the ship in port.

Here in chicagoland, spring break always included April first so kids weren't in school on April fools day.
-
For a second thought you were on the breeze with me. We will be in that madhouse too, and probably stay on the ship

I was just offered a promotion today, that starts Monday, cruise starts next Sunday. They offered to pay for the costs if I would cancel. So I said yes.
First act of my new job, submitting a $3000 claim. They said to take the cruise, and I get to keep the promotion.
Tell him they have to buy you out for all expenses.
-
it all depends. if you are on the Dream, I've seen all balconies sell out, and then be available, then sell out, and back available a few times already in the last few weeks.
They may be trying to upsell those already booked in your cabin type to free up a room for you, hoping someone pays a little more for a better room so you don't get it for the cheaper price.

two years ago I booked ES with my tax refund for a late september cruise.
by the time it came up, we had over 850 in OBC. If it werent for other people going with us next week, we would have done the same.

To be honest, I can't stand the way they do trivia now. Seems they have 5 topics, done multiple times a day every day. And never change the questions. We sat in at the end of one waiting for another, and had all the answers to the second round. Some people played the second round too, it was no longer trivia, but memory

From the OPs post it appears they like me do not have any credit cards.
If this is the case USE CASH.
You would never be able to use it from a secure card because of holds.
Holds on the debit card as well.
We bring a little cash (about 100 for the sign and sail before we board, and about 50 in small bills for tips on shore), but that's because our bank PNC refunds all atm fees, so we use the shipboard atm, and deposit cash at the self service machines if needed or for the ports, but we also buy Cheers ahead of time, prepay tips, etc.

I just wanted to say thank you for posting a link to an album, instead of posting all 1999 here in 52 pages of posts ;-)

BTW...See you on the ship! We are counting down the days!
Here's a question, is it based on when you leave? Or do they update at sea? We sail the 28th, wondering if it will change part way through

What time do the bars open and close? Does it vary by which bar and ship?
Depends on the bars, almost all are closed by 4, with the casino bar being the last one to close up. Most bars seem to have a closes at XX time or when the last person leaves kind of mentality.
