  1. I started a packing list about a month in advance. I am sure to jot down all the cruise-specific items so I won't forget them. We will do a mock-up prepack a week before to see how things are going to fit. No last minute space emergencies for us.

  2. Last year we were in 7622 and have chosen the same cabin for another cruise this year. Never heard a peep and were very pleased with the location. Deck 7 is situated between some key decks that allow a quick jaunt up/down the stairs. Up 1 to Central Park. Down 1 to boardwalk, down 2 to promenade. And with the Noro hysteria it's great to avoid elevators (as long as you can keep your hands of the rails in stairway).

  3. Hey guys, one more question about My Time Dining. On the Allure in March we were originally booked for the early seating for traditional dining for a party of five at one table. We called to switch to My Time Dining and the agent mentioned she would note our request for a table for five. Only later did I start thinking…Our plan is to eat at different times, the in-laws first and then my wife and I later. We are booked in separate cabins on the same reservation, I assume we can have separate seatings in the MDR, right?

  4. Our daughter was 2 1/2 on the Allure last March and we definitely got good use out of her umbrella stroller. You'll likely want/need it through the airports if you're flying, and it was a bit of a walk down the hall to our cabin from the elevators. Plus, our umbrella stroller had a little pouch to stuff supplies as we needed. We even used the stroller in port at Labadee, Falmouth, and Cozumel. We encourage our daughter to use her stroller as much as possible to expedite our trips and save our backs!

  5. Hey folks, last year on the Allure we learned the hard way that our child will not sit through a nice dinner in the MDR at our 6:00 seating.

My wife and I are going back on the Allure in March and our daughter will be 3.5 years old. We are taking a set of grandparents and we are thinking about doing My Time Dining. Our reasoning is that on some evenings (like the first day or so or when we have an early show reservation) we can see how dinner works with all five of us going right at 6:00. Maybe our daughter will miraculously sit like an angel for the entire dinner and we can all eat together every night. On other evenings, the grandparents could go right at 6:00 and enjoy their time while we play with our daughter, then swap off when they are done and my wife and I can have an enjoyable dinner. I do remember a dinner seating taking quite a while to enjoy all the courses.

How does this plan sound to any who may have done My Time Dining?
