  1. The 2023 ATW cruise is offering 64 Free Shore Excursions. For those "seasoned" cruisers, are these excursions just the most basic options? Example is your choice the basic Tour the City - 2 hr excursion Or can you choose a helicopter ride, or long extended excursions etc. TIA

  2. We always bring a case of water and just put a luggage tag on it as well as 2different 12 packs of soda that we put in a carry on size bag (also with a luggage tag), drop it off with porter with our other checked luggage and it arrives in our cabin. We use the now empty carry on size bag for souvenirs or things we get on our trip. Win Win!

  3. We did the blue line to the centre of the city, volunteers were very helpful and wonderful. We even walked to the golden zone alone the waterfront. First of the ship we did the brewery tour, walked to the brewery, got in early, then walked back towards the ship, where we joined the blue line. Everyone (Canadians) snowbirds were wonderful. We did feel safe everywhere we went.

It for us was a safe as any big city in Canada or the U.S.[/quote

How was the brewery tour? Any details?

  4. I just did a Cabo overnight on the Star in March. We picked up tender tickets by the pool at 8am. Tickets were numbered for what tender. We got first tender. First tender was about 11am. We loaded up and were gone in minutes. Tenders used were the ships lifeboats. They had at least 4 boats going all day, probably more. Overnight they had at least one going all night. We waited no more than 10 min to get a tender to get back to the ship. Find Monkey Business bar for the best fresh handmade margaritas.

  5. Probably a website glitch, which happens often when they switch promos.

If you read the promo terms and conditions it is clear that the UBP for insides is only good for 2015. It specifically states:

On cruises after Dec 22, 2015 Inside & Studio stateroom bookings choose from; the Dining Credit, 100 WiFi Minutes, Free Stateroom Gratuities, Soda Package, or Free 3rd and 4th Stateroom Guests on select sailings listed directly above.

I saw the terms and conditions - just wondered if anyone was able to actually book since it show it on a Mock booking - just curious.

  6. We usually use 4 land-based certificates per year for balcony cabins and haven't upgraded. Just booked our first CAS offer of inside cabin. We were quoted $90 PP to upgrade to Ocean-view, and $320 PP to upgrade to balcony. We chose to go with Ocean-view and were very pleased to be able to book the best OV with picture window for that flat 90 instead of an obstructed or porthole.

Our son has cruised for years on land-based comped inside or ocean-view certificates. In our experience, the non-com fees and taxes are same for a particular cruise whether you are inside, ocean-view or balcony.

Was your non commissionable rate $184pp plus port fees and taxes?

  7. Our recent "free" Inside offer wasn't so free through land based certificate. We were charged a non commissionable rate of $184pp plus port fees and taxes. That was to stay in the inside room.If upgrade to balcony its $320pp more and mini suite would be $500pp. We are a group of 8 with 4 separate rooms and we all were quoted the same prices booking over a 2 week span. Anyone else charged non commissionable rate with land based certificate?

  8. There is a $10 upcharge at Le Bistro for the lobster tails, fruits de mer and big steak. I plan on ordering the steak and the tails. The upcharge is waived with the SDP.

Unfortunately under Terms and Conditions on the last line it states "Specialty Dining Packages include one main course per person at Cagney's and Le Bistro restaurants. Additional main courses will be charged at $10.00.
