  1. I'll post this in my review too but quickly for those that don't know as I didn't. As you know you can takes pics around the ship off and on. There are packages to buy. It's a wonderful way to capture moments and family photos. Well they offer it was a package price if 296. If you buy early for us we saved 100 bucks so it cost us 196 for either 100 prints or digital all photos. This is An amazing deal and there photo ops are fantastic. And the photos always come out beautiful. You can't get this price at home. And beautiful backgrounds or just plain backgrounds. We took advantage of this. The trick is find all the areas and times they take photos and be ready to get your pic taken. At the end of the cruise you will have amazing memories .. you can get separate ones if your kids or all together etc. I just think it's a great option as we live family photos .. plan on bringing outfits casual or dressy to change for each night or photo op

Hi, do you know if you can order a photo after you leave your cruise, we both forgot to get photos until the day we were leaving and at this stage we had to catch a flight and didnt want to risk getting delayed.

  2. Just off the Freedom 2 weeks ago, and we were only asked once and that was the first night if we would buy speciality dining and this was good for us as we wanted one night in Chops after that we were never bothered again. When the photographer would come near our dining table in MDR I would just say no photos thank you and that was that.

  3. We are sailing on the Brilliance on 8/17/17 and are looking for some advice about excursions out of La Spezia. We are very interested in seeing Cinque Terre. I've been inquiring about the "Coast of Cinque Terre & Portovenere" shore excursion through RCL. When I ask the RCL Rep for 'further' information on this excursion they are very happy to help but are basically just reading the description that I have already read on their site.

I'm hoping that someone is familiar with this excursion or even a way from La Spezia to explore this area. We have only been to Livorno and are not sure what to expect out of La Spezia.

    Thanks for any help!

  4. Hello all,

We're 100% MDR eaters and have 0 specialty dining experience but want to try Chops on the Navigator. We're also very frugal so this is where our questions came from.

What's the best way to get a night at Chops and not pay full price? Should we look into the first night done right? I hate to miss the MDR on Prime Rib night though (first night if I recall). Does Royal offer any specials on pricing for just one night somewhere during a 9 night voyage?

    Thanks!

Just off Freedom last Sunday and we had said we would do chops one night for sure. So sitting in a bar on the first night a member of staff was going around trying to sell us this, so I choose a night I felt was less likely to be very busy which was our Rome day and I told him we would go if he offered us a discount so we got it for 25 dollars pp and 10 dollars for my daughter.

  5. Just off the freedom last Sunday and it was amazing.

Just a quick note to mention how excellent theses guys are from 7am to after 11 pm they kept vigilant. My daughter is a great swimmer so I seldom worry about her but always watch her incase she slips etc etc however it was so relaxing to know she was always in safe hands.

They really do a great job.

  6. Let me start off by saying that although we've cruised a few times before, this whole specialty dining thing is new to us. We LOVE the main dining room, trying all kinds of things, ordering multiple appetizers, entrees, or desserts when we can't decide, meeting other cruisers, etc.

Now people tell us that we MUST take a night during the cruise to get away from the kids and go to a nice romantic dinner at the steak house. On our upcoming Adventure cruise, Chops is $42. Then I see the menu has no prices listed except for a couple of steaks and a lobster listed as "something special."

My question is, what am I getting for that $42? Can I order multiple items, either in the appetizer, entree, or dessert categories? Are those "something special" items in addition to the price I've already paid? An of course, I assume drinks are extra, right?

Bottom line, if we really enjoy the MDR (and have already in essence paid for our meal there), why would I spend so much more to go to Chops? What am I missing?

    Thanks!

We booked chops on the freedom got a deal for 25 dollar pp?', yes the filet steak was fabulous it really was but like yourself I find the MDR to be extremely lovely also so to be honest if I was going again I wouldn't book it. And then if you want lobster or a bigger steak there is another additional cost.

  7. Thank you for the review, I have a few question?

-did you see lobster at the MDR?

-this is my cruise leaving from Europe, I was told people can board the ship on day 1 while others passengers are disembarking?

    - do people tip the porters who take your luggage?

-do you have to carry your passport to board back the ship in Italy or France?

-what's the demographic of the passengers, more Americans, European or asians?

-did you like the cruise director ?

Thank you and sorry for so many questions,

    No lobster in MDR

We boarded ship at half 11 AM

No we did not tip luggage porters but that was because we took luggage to the port ourselves from the airport.

Yes at La Spezia We were told we needed to take our passports.

Over 1000 Americans, 500 English , 500 Spanish and then I guess mixed all other nationalities this was what the captain informed us. We were Irish and a lot of us too.

Hope this helps, I also sailed on 2 July loved every minute of it was just fantastic.

We only done one port La Spezia we went to Pisa and Florence.

    Enjoy every minute [emoji41][emoji41]

  9. I wonder is this just for US guests because although i have heard this happens, for me from England fortunately after 45 cruises nothing like this has ever happened with my MasterCard.

From Ireland we used a MasterCard and just got off Sunday. We have 3 amounts taken from card.

2 were taken on sat whilst on ship small amounts like 7.56 and 12.68

Then the last one taken Sunday as it should have been this one was correct.

So now we wondering what we're d charges on Sat and why was my card used whilst I was still on board why was this just not added to our final bill.. I guess I'll have to make that dreaded phone call [emoji849][emoji849][emoji849]

  10. Complete non-issue.

Probably 18 of my trips I have printed my own luggage tags.Never had any problems what-so-ever.

No need to go buy something..

And how do u staple them when u arrive at port ??? I have them printed and folded but wondering how exactly will I attach these to the bag at port. I can't add mine to our luggage until after we fly[emoji57][emoji57][emoji57][emoji57]

  11. Your welcome i am sure you will have a great time as they are great ports and the ship is lovely.

Giovanni's was excellent and i would highly recommend.Even though we had My TimeDining we went into Giovanni's 3 times during the 7 nights.

Thank u we were thinking of trying that one, I think you have just sold it [emoji2] 9 more sleeps [emoji484][emoji484]

  12. Totally correct.

We were on Freedom 4-11 June and all you need to do is take your printed set sail pass to the check in desk and they do everything else including taking your photo then they give you your seapass card which is your cabin key, charge card on board and your identity card for getting on and off the ship.

Great thank u for ur help [emoji106][emoji106]

  13. On NCL and DCL they can, probably the same on most lines. At that age, I would let them know where I wanted them to be if they signed out, they did not have my permission to just leave and wander. It was also rare that my kids were in a club without at least one sibling.

Tk u I didn't realise they could do this, don't think I could relax knowing she was wandering round so will be asking her not to leave till I collect her.

  14. Yes thank you i know, when talking about printing things you forget.

On Harmony last year in Barcelona officials were hovering around in check in terminal with lap tops to take your photos and check you in.

On Freedom last week in Barcelona it was back to check in lines and as D+ it only took us10 minutes to check in.

Ohh I didn't notice anywhere on the site that I needed to upload a photo I'm going on freedom nxt week and have my set sail printed

  15. Our DS, Age 10, is a little young for his age in terms of decision-making and emotional maturity. We would not be comfortable with him having sign-out privileges from the kids' club on HAL. However, we know he'd love to participate in club activities. Does anyone know if parents may decline sign-out privileges for a child this age on HAL? Does the staff do a good job of enforcing who has privileges and who doesn't? Thanks for your help! Any feedback is welcome.

What - do you mean 10 year old kids can actually sign themselves out from kids club?? Is this on Royal carribeen ohh gosh I was not aware of this and am so not comfortable with my daughter walking around the ship on her own
