Love your review so far. We are booked on the Vista out of Galveston in October, so will be following your review!

We ended up at the Cuban Coffee Queen....it was good...not exactly what we remember from our time in Tampa though. Sure hit the spot though!

I booked parasailing in KW 6 or 7 months ago through Carnival for our cruise next month. A month or so ago I found the Fury website with the lower pricing. I submitted a request through Carnival's Shore Excursion Best Price Guarantee and they are refunding me, as OBC, $35 each. So, either way it works out about the same.

It it ok to have the soda and wine in one carry on suitcase? For example the 2 allowed 12 packs and the 2 allowed bottles of wine?
I think last time we had 2 wines in one carry on and 2 12-packs of soda in another. But we made sure both of us were standing there at the same person/checker. Just in case.

You must carry it on and show it at the security table. Galveston is pretty thorough about inspecting seals and whatnot from what we've heard.
Yes...the Galveston security people are very thorough checking out the wine bottles. Very thorough. To the point where I asked if he just wanted to go ahead and crack the seal and have a sip. I mean, geez. It's obvious the seal wasn't broken! LOL.

Thanks, everyone!

Hi there! Hubby and I grew up in Tampa, FL, surrounded by the Cuban community. Fast forward a lot of years and we are now in Oklahoma, having lived 20 years in Texas. We dearly miss Cuban sandwiches, and just anything on Cuban bread. A French baguette is just not the same! Is there a place near the port we could hit after our excursion? I've looked online and found a few possibilities, but thought maybe someone might have a suggestion based on experience!
TIA,
Donna

So-so food on a cruise is still better than a week at work, in my opinion. Seriously though, I'm sorry to hear about the lackluster experience. We are departing on the Breeze in 6 weeks. I'm looking forward to Guy's Burgers and the Bonsai Sushi bar. And I agree...what is it with the Bacon Police???

Thank you for the awesome pics! I'm booked at the Chef's Table on the Breeze in November and I can't wait!! So many tasty things to come!

Following- because when I called Carnival they said "no we can't make it vegetarian" but when I went to book it in "manage my cruise" it said to tell us about any dietary restrictions.
I'm interested to see how that pans out as well...we are booked at the Chef's Table on the Breeze in November. For dietary restrictions I noted "gluten free" as hubby is intolerant (not Celiac's but intolerant) and I eat gluten free with him. I got the email confirming our reservation, but no remarks as to the dietary restrictions.

Thanks for the review! We sail 9/5/16 and I can't wait! My countdown timer says 60 days! This will be our second cruise, the first being on the Magic a few years ago.
In Progresso, we booked the Salsa, Guacamole, Margarita shore excursion. Three of my favorite things and lots of beach time to boot. In Cozumel, it's swimming with the dolphins for us....it will be my birthday so it's my gift to myself! :p
Which AFT View cabin on the Breeze?
in Carnival Cruise Lines

We were on the Breeze in November in 8475, the exact opposite of the 8468 you booked. (i.e. first aft cabin in from the side) We loved it. The balcony was wonderfully large w/ two chairs, a table, and a lounge chair. Hubby and I weren't tripping over each other. You don't get the same breezes as you do from a side balcony. And with the beveling of the back end of the ship, you can sort of see down into the balcony below, not not in a bad way. (Hard to describe!) The room was a normal balcony sized room. Hubby enjoyed it but missed being able to see where we were going, LOL. Sunsets and sunrises were great since it didn't matter what side you were on. Enjoy your cabin!
