Wow, thanks for all the great information! It is all very helpful. :)

We're doing our first TA from NY on the QM2 next May, and looking forward to it. I'd love info about disembarking in Southampton and traveling on from there...
TA tells me that arrival time is 6:30 am (presumably depending on weather during crossing.) Once we are on the dock (what will that time be, realistically?) what if anything does Cunard offer in terms of onward transportation, say to London? I'd guess that boat trains are a thing of the past! :)
Let me know what experience/recommendations you might have -- TIA! Also, we're doing a return eastbound trip a month later. Won't have any use for our formal wear in London -- are there any facilities for storing it till we travel back to NY? I really don't want to lug it round London!

We've only done Mediterranean trips on Windstar, and were told that there are more restrictions on the sports platform there than on Caribbean trips. Some ports in the Med limit their use, and weather is not always suitable. On our September Rome to Venice cruise last year, the platform was only out in Kotor (where the water was REALLY cold!

... but be prepared for changes. Last September, we were supposed to tender into Dubrovnik, but found ourselved tied up at the dock -- next to a huge Carnival megaship. :(
Weather apparently was too rough for tender, so Captain had no choice about docking.
Buses were provided to take us to the city walls, to the Pile Gate. Because of the other ships at anchor, town was crowded. It was a hot humid day, so we walked the city walls for a bit, saw an excellent photo exhibit at a gallery, had some refreshments, and were glad to escape back to our Windsurf refuge!

Apparently, Windstar was not a good fit for the OP. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
We've done several Windstar cruises, and loved them. It's a treat to be on a smaller ship, with an attentive and caring crew. No complaints here. :) And we're looking forward to our next one.

We were on the Windsurf from Rome to Venice. During the stop in Split, we had the opportunity to join the chef as he shopped the local markets. He was buying fresh local veggies, cheeses and fish. It was a very interesting part of our trip!
