  1. Going in April aboard Carnival. Anyone have any experience with the Sea Lion swim for $125pp? Is it worth it? The beau has never been to the Caribbean nor on a cruise & wanted to make it memorable. It's pricey so I want bang for the buck. Carnival only offers a Snuba excursion at Coral World so this'll be on our own.

  2. We're looking at the Carnival Glory cruise in June 2015. The ship is scheduled for 0700-1530. Anyone know what time the shops open? We'll have 4 kids in tow (15, 13, 12 & 10) so the fort, perusing downtown & maybe some beach time on our own.

  3. Just a heads up. I checked the port schedule for the day I'm in Cozumel. There is another ship that docks @ 9, whereas my ship docks @ 10. Mr. Sancho's is 1st come basis unless you reserve one in advance. All I can say is good luck if you wing it.

  4. Has any purchased Herradura "Seleccion Suprema" or D'Aristi Xtabentún? I heard these are the "must buys" while in Mexico. If so, what's your opinion & how much are they going for? Heading to Coz in October.

I have a 32g SanDisk card (make sure you have 2 for ease) the standard Li-Ion batt with the BacPack. You need to have an external hard drive bc your footage everyday will EAT your computer hard drives capacity QUICK! Make sure you take an electrical strip for all of the chargers/computer/accessories.

My setup is on the acrylic GoPole. It hides better than the extendable kind which makes for a better video. Drawback is the fixed length does make it cumbersome for transport when not in use. The extendable pole has a bad review about at the max length, the camera is too heavy to support (standard setup, not even the BacPack setup). Evidently it twists to lock into place & in certain positions, the camera weight causes it to unlock. I rigged (safety-wire & a shower hook) the camera to the pole. I am stupid paranoid about the thumbscrew backing out & losing the camera off of the pole. Especially underwater & parasailing.

I just recently had to send my Hero3 Black to GoPro to be replaced. It quit powering up within a year. So any glitches at all, call GoPro immediately. I have another cruise aboard the Breeze in October with my boys. It's their 1st so I HAVE to get good shots of them. Good luck!

  6. I lived in Duncan from 95-97. I still have family there. I worked at the Heilig-Meyers furniture store when it was across from the Holiday Inn. My now ex husband used to work at Valco, north of town out by Lake Humphreys. Small world

  7. Squirrel moment...2Okies I see you're from South Central OK...where at? I grew up in Rosedale, went to school in Wayne, "going to town" was Purcell & "the mall" was Norman.

  8. Depends, do you have a death wish? Lol the road is a narrow, mountain/cliff with crazy island drivers. Yes you could but it would be very dangerous. You're also risking yourself to crime. It is very shady along the route. A lot of shanty's & squatters.

  9. Oh & the Red Stripe we were drinking as we entered Dunn's River Falls....Peat had for sale (and bottles of water) on the bus for $2/ bottle (I think...something ridiculously cheap) so take some small bills. Also the lockers at Dunn's River were something odd like $12?? but you got $5?? (deposit) back when you return the key. I can't remember exactly so make sure you take singles with you.

  10. Yes! WORTH IT! We rode a bus to Dunn's River then afterwards since it was the hubs & I doing the beach horseback, we had our own bus to drop us off then an SUV came back to pick us up. The horseback ride was kinda sketchy looking. Off the main road was a pasture & they pulled a couple of horses up to the stand as we mounted. They guides lead you through the slums of the countryside then end up wading through a beach. Afterwards when the chauffeur came back for us, we had time so he took us to The Jerk Centre for authentic Jamaican Jerk. Then he took us to the city center for free rum tasting. Mind you the Jerk Centre & city center were bc he offered to show us around not bc we signed up for it. Our driver was very hospitable. We had him drop us off at Margaritaville then we just walked back to the terminal from there.

Here's the link to our GoPro video. It's of Ocho Rios & Gr Cayman on the Victory. You have to either view from your computer or the desktop version of YouTube.

  11. In Sept we booked with Peat to do Dunn's River & Beach Horseback riding. Hubs & I rode on the bus to the Falls and afterwards had our own private transfer to our 2nd destination. They do a very good job about shuttling everyone to their different excursion options. This coming Oct we are using Peat again to do the $30 shuttle to Dunn's River only as we will have my boys with us & are on a limited budget. I have no qualms about using Peat again whatsoever. They're top notch!

  12. Does anyone know how far apart these 2 fantasies o'fun are? Mr.Sancho's is where we ultimately would like to be but I'll gladly fork over the dinero to Playa if Sancho's is too crowded. From Google Maps it looks to be right next door to each other but would like to get confirmation. I'll be dragging my 9 & 15 yo youngin's with me & it's their 1st adventure abroad so I'd like it to be memorable for them while pleasurable for me & the hubs.

    So far I have

    Mr.Sancho's is free

    All-Inclusive is $55/adults $40/teens $35/kids

Then they have waterpark access fees & snorkel/sail add ons

Playa Mia apparently charges you just for looking at the facility (insert sarcasm)

It starts with a $30 day pass then grows with transfers, all inclusive buffet & alcoholics-in-training program.

    PLUS any adventure tours

Mr.Sancho's also has a lot more tantalizing selection of libations for us grow ups, from what I've seen.

    What do y'all think?
