  1. If you are going to have internet, we use an app called VOXER , its like a walkie talkie. You can text , send pictures and use voice. The voice only lets one of you talk at a time, but as soon as you are done listening you can respond and they wait. Its also great because if they aren't available to talk voice when you are, you can send a voice message and they listen when they can and then respond. It worked great for our whole family because we had a daughter in Canada and a daughter in Puerto Rico while we were on our cruise. So we were all in one group chat and could hear how the others were doing. Just a suggestion :D

  2. Okay we just had that same experience getting off the Anthem last Saturday . Our room was 11622 . At night it woke me (not my husband) up ALOT . It did happen a few times during the day when we were in our rooms . The sound to me was very loud like a HUGE flush (no pun intended) was being done. Looking at the decks above us , we were right under the H20 zone. Our friends beside us didn't have that sound at all, so I'm guessing we were right next to a drain. None the less I would rather be there than in the snow :D:D

  3. We just got off The Anthem yesterday and I agree the Gangway getting on and off were very level.

Getting off and on in CocoCay and Nassau were totally different ! (Providing those are your stops)

Going from the ship to the Tender boat in CocoCay was very wobbly , so that will depend on how rough the seas are that day ( we were very happy to say we got to stop in CocoCay because the Seas have been too rough for the ship to stop there lately)

Getting off in Nassau was a steep incline , but there were also people there to help you walk down if you found it too steep.

I agree if you still feel you need support by that time to ask for a wheelchair, you don't wanna hurt yourself and not be able to enjoy the rest of your vacation . Hope that helps :D

  4. Let us know if you got one. I've never had a problem in over 10 years cruising on RCL but this year the beds on Anthem were so hard (not firm but hard like a rock) that I woke up in pain after a night of tossing and turning trying to get comfortable. Was told no toppers except in suites but the cabin attendant put a few comforters under the bottom sheet. I also got so many pillows when I requested 2 more that I was prepared to line them up and sleep atop them if needed. I managed with the extra comforters so never got to try the pillows. By the way, I've been on Anthem 3times before this last cruise and never found the mattresses uncomfortable so I don't know what changed in the last year but it wasn't good.

So we just got back and Yes they put a topper on our bed. I still found the bed a little harder then I would like, but survived and had a great vacation! Our adult kids had a room and did not get the same topper we had , on their beds, also the couch pull out was very hard , the staff tried putting a few comforters on it to help soften it but it was not comfortable at all. They ran out of mattress toppers, I guess they only have a few ( they said).

They did say they ordered all their mattresses from the same place for every ship but I have to say I found The Freedom beds far more comfortable then I just did on The Anthem. But all in all , we were away and all together and had a great time .

  5. I'm just wondering if there is a thread that has the current dining menu for the 7 night Bahamas, I've seen it on other threads for other ships but can't seem to see one for The Anthem. We have a set dining time of 5:30 . We are sailing March 17th and wanted to take a look at it , Thanks :D

  6. Hey everyone, There are a bunch of us going to be on The Anthem on March 17th and I was looking for some posts on peoples favourtite things to do Florida/ Bahama's stops . Disney and Universal seem to be to an hour away and we don't get there until 12pm and leave at 9:30 . So a few people have said it doesn't give us much time. Any input on that or has anyone done it?

Has anyone rented a car there? Any recommendations?

    Cococay Favourite things to do?

    Nassau Favourite things to do?

I understand everyone has different tastes but thought someone might mention something that may trigger an interest. :D

I'm sure there are posts on here with this info, but I have been looking and can't see where it would be.

Thanks everyone for your help , We really appreciate it :D

  7. Hi, I just got off Anthem on Sunday and we had a balcony room...11204. We were a family of 4 and my two sons, both about 100lbs. slept comfortably on the pullout. We asked our cabin attendant to make up the bed with separate blankets. I while I did not sleep on the pullout, I did lay down on it a few times and really did not feel cramped or uncomfortable. I am 6'0". My kids had no complaints about the bed. I measured the bed and it was 76"x60" which is 4" short of a standard queen bed (80"x60").

Here is a photo of the bed made up.

Thanks for sharing that info, we are on The Anthem in March!

  8. Hey Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has any reviews on The Embassy Suites on International BLVD. We have a cruise in March on The Anthem and we booked rooms that include a Shuttle to the Port and leaving our Vehicles there for the week. We are going a day early so its seems like a good price for a stay /shuttle/park for $239 tax included. Sorry if this has been asked before, I have looked around through the site but didn't see any reviews regarding this hotel.

    Thanks :D

  9. I was wondering if someone could tell me, We are going on a cruise with our good friends on the Freedom . We are both looking at getting the internet and were wondering if Royal allows you to get the internet for 2 devices , where I can take a code and they can take a code if we are in 2 different cabins. Its cheaper to pay for the 2 devices then each of us getting the 1

If they do allow it, can we both be on a tablet at the same time?

I've searched the forums to see if this question has been asked but I couldn't find it anywhere.

    Thanks in advance

  10. Hey Everyone, this is our first cruise and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about internet on the cruise, I was wondering if there was a way to communicate with family back home. To just check on our kids :)

Also is there a section on these forums that is just to do with information on Freedom of the seas instead of having to go through all the Royal Caribbean ships? Thank you
