We are cruising in January and I don’t see any classes under Specialty Dining...at all. Not even marked “sold out”. Could it be they are not available to book yet???

For one thing, if you don't have early access to your cabin, you won't have your S&S card, so if you wish to purchase any drinks they will scan your barcode on the boarding pass in order to charge you. EM
Duhhhh.....I never even thought of that!! Thank you for sharing!! So, I'm assuming they do not scan it for boarding?

Hello!!
I am wondering if the bar code on the upper right corner of your boarding pass is scanned before you board now? I cruised in January and they never even scanned it...so why is it there???
-
I have searched and searched but couldn’t find anything about this!
Can I carry on a short garment bag? I’m thinking it will roll up or fold over to get through the scanner. Has anyone carried on a garment bag recently??? If so, please share your experience! TIA!

Stunning! I can’t wait!

Thank everyone!! 5 days...and counting!!

I've searched for information and/or reviews but haven't found much. We are cruising at the end of May, going to Princess Cays and are considering renting a family friendly cabana for the day. Some of us are sun friendly and some are not: meaning we will need shade and sun! No one in our group has ever been there. So, for anyone that has been there, would you give you opinions about your experience? Things like the questions below:
What are the goods and the bad's of this port?
Are there umbrellas to sit under if we don't do the rental?
How much does a clam shell cost for the day?
I've read there are several places to swim-which would you recommend?
Can you see the ship from the beach?
Thanks in advance!

She only has 24 hours between her last cruise from Charleston and her first cruise from Jacksonville. Not really enough time to do any real sprucing.
True....but look at what they accomplish on embarkation/debarkation day in just a few hours!

Does anyone know if any "sprucing up" will happen on Carnival Ecstasy before she starts going out of Jacksonville, FL in May??? Recent cruisers are commenting she could use a touch up: hull painting, carpets cleaned, and a good cleaning, etc. We sail her in May a couple of weeks after she gets to Jacksonville. I know she goes into dry dock October 2019 so I'm not expecting anything, just curious! This is my FAVORITE Carnival ship...please no bashing of her.

Thank you for an honest informative review! Ecstasy is my favorite Carnival ship and she and I are close to the same age! I'd hate for sometime to write a review on me and my rusty bolts and bed smell after a week of vacationers!!! I'm fairly confident that she is up for dry dock in October 2019...I cant wait to sail her in just 61 days! Just made the final payment! Whooo!

Can you add the internet package any day during the cruise (like day 3 of a 5 day cruise) or do you have to buy it on the first day??? Thanks in advance!!

And I believe that they retracted those changes until further notice.
So back to the some stuff free/some stuff cost room service modelI guess I should have noted that I knew that! And its too late to edit!

Pretty sure you can order starting at 1:30p (when the cabins are available).
Thank you!

I'm wondering, with the recent changes to the room service menu, I am wondering what is the earliest time you can order from room service on embarkation day? After traveling, and finally getting on board, I like to avoid the Lido crowds, eat and take a short nap before muster! Odd, I know!!

How do you contact "special needs" to ask permission for a small travel size humidifier? Thx!!

I will take a look for this! Thanks
Better yet...download a free app for your phone. Just be sure your phone is in Airplane Mode while using it! I use Sleep Pillow and there are 9 free "sounds"...rain, beach, birds, thunderstorm, fire, etc.

As far as them doing away with trays - one way to get around that is to order the free continental breakfast and keep the tray - I've done that a few times and never had any staff member questioning my use of the tray in the Lido.
GREAT suggestion...Thank you!

Thank you!!

Does anyone know what the Platinum Gift will be on the 2019 cruises, yet? I've searched the posts, and they show a small backpack or cross body bag, but the posts are from October 2018. I'm not sure how often they roll out new ones. Thx!

I know this is old, but its worth a shot. Does anyone know how many "points" you receive when you go Carnival Platinum to MSC Gold? Do you just start at 4300 and work your way up from there????
