We just got off the Oasis and I had the Premium package. My DW did not get it as she didn't feel like she would drink enough liquor and we brought 2 bottles of wine with us for her dinner. We had our teen kids with us so I got around the "everyone in the cabin must purchase the package" restriction by having one adult and one child in each cabin and buying the package online prior to boarding. They can't sell it to a minor. :)
Then when we boarded I just had the sea passes re-keyed to the correct rooms and we were set.
As to the question about cognac, I was able to get a Courvoisier XO at dinner. Additionally, there was only one port choice available (don't recall the brand but it was labeled at $6) despite the Graham's 6 Grape only being $6, it was not included in the package. Since I'm not normally a vodka or tequila drinker, I didn't bump up against some of those limits.
I would agree with most other posters, did I "break even?" Its probably a wash, but I would definitely do it again as I enjoyed my cruise more knowing I could try some new drinks and not worry about my bar bill. Admit it, its always at the back of your mind unless you make alot more than most of us do.
