  1. Hopefully the lady needing to be taken off is going to be okay. The rough seas, is that normal for this time of the year?

We have. 12:40 flight home, it sounds like it could get interesting!!

    Can't wait for your review!!

We left the Pride this past Sunday and had a 12:45 flight out of BWI - let's just say we made it to the gate to board the plane with 15 minutes to spare - that was with carrying our own bag's off and having FTTF (and a Guest Services had us jump in line as soon as we were cleared for debarkation)... and I had purchased Even more space/speed on JetBlue. Had I gone through the normal security line at BWI I never would have made the flight home... just my pennies worth :)

  2. We were on the Oasis a few weeks ago and had to turn around back to St Marten due to a medical emergency. DH and I stayed up and watched from our balcony - we literally pulled into the port and they had a ramp set up to the ship, we watched the family disembark and their loved one was taken off ... we literally pulled away from the pier before the person was put in the ambulance that was waiting for them.

Last year we were also on the Oasis (western route) and there was a medical emergency and we woke up in Grand Cayman, we were stopped and the person was taken off the ship and tendered in... so I guess it varies by port maybe and the Captains call?

  3. Sorry if this should only be in the St Thomas Section but that area seems to have much less RCL experts so I am posting it here:p

The GF and I are sailing on Oasis Jan 11th. So excited!!!! 81 days and counting. We love the planning and excitement of figuring out what we are going to do on our vacation

I wanted to know if anyone has done the STO3 St John self explore excursion?

I am strongly considering this because it gives me and the GF a nice long beach and snorkel day.

What time does it leave St Thomas for St John and what time does it get back? I also wanted to know If you wanted to head back early can you get on any ferry back to St Thomas just in case the duty free shopping bug bites.

And if you have any can't miss Things to Do or See I would love to hear about them

Any and all feedback is welcome.

Hi Jeff! I'll be on the same sailing! You should come join our Roll Call Thread, it's pretty active!

  4. I've sailed the Oasis last January (2012) and Last week, both were in a Grand Suite and for both cruises we received calls the Tuesday prior to sailing offering the Upsell... But both years it varied, last year we were offered to upgrade to the Sky Loft Suite for $500 total (when we tried to take it, it was already gone since we missed calling them back in time). This year we were offered $750 pp to upgrade to a Crown Loft Suite and passed. This was the first time on RCCL we were contacted to change cabins :)

  5. I was on the Oasis a few weeks ago and we had an outbreak of the Noro virus.. we received a letter in our Stateroom regarding extra precautions they were taking to ensure it didn't continue to spread... We definitely noticed an increase in hand santizer stations (that were being very strictly enforced). DH and I were lucky to avoid it all week (I was obsessed with hand washing!)

We did meet people onboard that week that caught it - they told us they were quarantined for 24 hours and given medication (I think they said gravel and immodium). They also stated that they were given free internet access, movies and full dining room menu's for room service during the 24 hours...
