  1. Hi everyone! Going on our 2nd cruise in January. We had a blast on our first which went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. This time we are going to Nassau and HMC. That being said, I feel like we are some of the ONLY people who have not been to Nassau a million times!

I am looking for suggestions on fun excursions. Here are some details about us:

[*]Two married couples - in our late 20s and early 30s

[*]One of the couples is cruising for the 1st time

[*]We like beaches and upbeat stuff

[*]Not into any historical tours etc...

[*]Would like to spend around $100 pp. No more than $150 pp

Please feel free to include links. Let me know about good public beaches or Atlantis. I think the guys really wanna do Atlantis so if you have any tips please share ;)

    Thanks, Lindsay

  2. I'm a new cruiser, will be going on my second cruise on the Allure in November. Our first stop is Nassau. I've read over and over on these boards about how much people hate Nassau. Why???

If it's a crappy spot, why do so many ships stop there? Convenience? Kickbacks? Fill me in!

THANK YOU for asking this! My thoughts exactly! It doesn't look all that bad. We are second time cruisers too. We will be going to Nassau in January on our first stop too!

  3. I have no idea- the beach, especially on paradise island is great- the shopping is also very good. If you do not like the beach, tours and other activities are available. The only island we dislike is Jamaica. We do not feel safe and had a bad experience in Montego bay with people trying to harrass us and sell drugs on the beach. If a ship we are on goes to Jamaica, we stay on board.

Could not agree with you more about Jamaica!

  4. Congrats!

We did a honeymoon cruise to the Western Caribbean on the Carnival Conquest out of New Orleans in Oct. of 2013. IT WAS AWESOME! Ours was the 7 day - Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel itinerary.

Like everyone else has said, we don't really know much about you so it's hard to say but I can tell you a little about us and our Carnival cruise.

We were 29 and 26 when we got married. My husband and I are high-energy. We live an hour from the beach and love being outside. Big sports people etc. I honestly don't care much about the on-board entertainment and I literally think my husband would rather climb a cactus than go to a show! We love the lido deck and the sea days. I thought Cozumel would be my least favorite port and as it turned out I LOVED IT! I think part of this was due to bad choices for excursions at the other two. We played golf at a resort in Jamaica (his choice) and booked a resort for a day package in Cayman @ the Westin. That turned out to be about the most boring 6 hours I've ever spent on a beach. I looked down at all the people who were on the public beach who had gotten off the ship and kicked myself for paying as much as we did for that excursion.

The moon was our first cruise and we JUST booked another out of Jacksonville for January. I cannot speak on behalf of the other lines you mentioned and I dont have the vast cruising knowledge that many on this site do. I can only say do research and think about what is most important to you. Is it the itinerary, the ship, price, the departure port etc, etc...

  5. My husband and I cruised out of NOLA in Oct of 2013 on the Conquest and it was great! I REALLY loved all the dining options (Steakhouse and Guys Burgers are not on every ship). We had an OV cabin on the Riviera deck mid-ship and could not feel ANY movement bc the ship was so big.

We did the 7-night W. Carib itinerary and really had a blast! I had read some poor reviews about the ship (it was old etc...) but this did not bother us at all. My husband really loved the EA sports bar (also not on all ships) and the World Series was going on when we were cruising so that was a lot of fun.

Loved the Lido deck and the Seaside Theater. Pizza on the aft end of the ship was AMAZING!

We are going on the Fascination in January and I hope it is just as good of an experience. The Fascination does not have several of the features the Conquest does and I think the cabins are also smaller. However, we have friends going this time so I think it will be even more fun with a group!

Good luck on your Conquest cruise! We loved ours! :)
