was this a change that happened DURING the cruise, or just something that was scheduled and you didn't know about it ?
I don't know. I never thought to try to find out where it was coming back to!.

I have known Princess to offer a shuttle in this kind of circumstance; a lot of other passengers will have the same issue. The agent is uninformed.
Thanks! It did seem crazy that there would be no plan.

Hi everyone. I just found out that my cruise (crown princess ending February 15) is going to arrive in Port everglades at terminal 19. My car is at the terminal 2 garage, as the cruise departed from there. I asked Guest Services how I was to get from 19 to 2, and the agent did not know.
Anyone know if there are shuttles provided between terminals in a case like this? I am traveling solo so I cannot leave one person with luggage and walk to car.
If no shuttles, any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi Maureen, I would 100% feel safe taking the bus to Mambo Beach for the day by myself. I would have no reservations whatsoever. I am 46 & somewhat assertive (my husband likes to use a different word). There is a small fee to access the beach and an additional small fee for chairs/umbrellas. There are bathrooms, multiple places to eat & shop, etc. It is also one of the few places that I would feel comfortable snorkeling by myself (my husband & I usually only snorkel together). I'm not sure I would leave my stuff (money, camera, etc), but you could lock that kind of stuff up in a bag & secure it to your chair.
thanks!!! sounds like a good destination for me. : )

Great info, Fishbone -
question for you on Curacao - do you think it would be safe for a female alone? Are there chair rentals at Mambo Beach? thanks for the idea - I much prefer to do things on my own rather than be in a big group.

Not my first cruise. Have cruised many times, years ago, usually for 2 or 3 weeks, mostly in the Caribbean.
OH I misu derstood. I thought you said you hadn't cruised by yourself before. I do and love it but I'm not sure I could do 111 days by myself!
-
I so want to do this someday. I think it's amazing that you are even thinking about going! Do you haven't cruised solo before? If so my suggestion would be to take a 10-14 day cruise by yourself first. See what you think.

thanks, all! That's wonderful that I can bring my beloved VWZero aboard, AND San Pellegrino!!! We are driving to port so shouldn't be an issue to haul it....

First time Princess cruiser - does anyone know if they have Vitamin Water Zero on board? Or, can I bring a six pack (it comes in plastic bottles) when boarding? Also, does either the classic soda or speciality coffee/tea packages include San Pelligrino or the equivalent?
I tried searching and reading the terms & conditions of the packages but it wasn't clear.
Thanks!

hi there - thinking about going on the new Panorama solo, but wondering how you met people to talk to? You sound like you're probably an extrovert, so maybe it's easier for you - but any tips you have would be appreciated. I love traveling solo, but I do like to actually talk to people at some point!

Hi just finishing my first carnival cruise after only celebrity before. Pros: serenity section, really good internet at a reasonable price, lunch choices, Italian restaurant for dinner, nice size for an interior room, dive in movies, price (very important as I went solo so had to pay double!).
Cons: mdr food (worst lobster I've ever had....abandoned after second night), no tpool, the serenity pool was never warm enough to go into despite 87 degree weather, missed celebrity's awesome coffee shop with a view and table service, number of hot tubs, loud announcements from cruise director throughout day.
I will definitely sail carnival again; there are enough good things and I don't really care about the mdr with the other choices.
-
Thanks everyone! I've never sailed carnival before, so I didn't want to take the chance and book ahead of time. But I would like the option if I'm having a good time! I'll report back in February if I do it and how it went.
-
Hi there - I was wondering - has anyone ever booked the very next sailing while on board? In other words - done a back to back without booking the second part until you were on board?

thanks - just wanted to be sure I understood that I can only ask for a price reduction (obc now that final payment has passed) on the same category. That's what I thought - but then people were talking about going to guarantee cabins so I was confused.

Hi. Newbie to carnival and early saver. I booked a spa interior, so when I check fare viewer, I'm only checking to see if the 4s price went down, right? I wouldn't be eligible for a price reduction if other categories go down? I'm getting confused about the Es match to guarantee discussion.
Just bumping this question for the experts! [emoji6]

2012 was also the last time I got any steady price drops. I had about $900. OBC owed me. I find it fun to check everyday and if I don't get any, at least I know I got the best price. I just checked Carnival's Fare Viewer and my cruise balcony category has dropped $58. I filled out the form and was denied. I called and after quite a bit of hassle they applied the credit. It was worth it. It is called Cyber Monday Early saver Sale.:)
Why was it denied initially?

OP, I would never switch an ES booking to a TA.
First off, you cannot put in for a price drop, your TA has to do it. So, if you see that your cruise went down in price, you would have to call your TA, let them know, they will have to find it at the same price that you found it, then they would enter the form to Carnival.
Also, some TA's charge a fee when you are booked ES and you put in for a price reduction.
If the upsell/upgrade fairy were to call, they would not call you. They would call your TA and depending on the TA, they would pass the info on to you.
thanks, ready - that's good information! I think I will probably pass on transferring to her given your feedback.
-
Why didn't you just use your TA to begin with?
Because I was noodling around the Carnival website along with other cruise lines to find a cruise that fit my schedule on a weekend night, saw the one I booked with a cabin I wanted, and wanted to jump on it to make sure it didn't get away. I also knew that my TA was on vacation the next week.
-
not necessarily, never got that call so wouldn't know :( but they would have to call your travel agent, not you. If your travel agent doesnt relay the message right away you could loose out.
Can we ask, why do you want to transfer to a TA at this stage?
Hi..was thinking that I might get some obc from them as I have in the past.
-
just a FYI if you move your booking to a TA you lose the ability to contact carnival with any questions or requests. Everything will have to go through your TA
Thanks! does that mean the upsell fairy would not call me?
-
Hi, there - new to Carnival, so sorry if this is a dumb question. I booked a cruise on the Carnival website, early saver, and just paid final payment. Can I still transfer to my travel agent? If so, is there a deadline for when I need to transfer? Thanks in advance for the knowledge! Moseylou

I am thinking of booking this deal. I have never sailed solo but my daughter is not able to come. Have always said that I wanted to do a solo cruise but feeling a bit nervous now. We went on a Med cruise this summer and a Bermuda cruise in Sept but feeling the cruise bug again. And we love Celebrity. Sigh, what to do ....

GO! the worst part is that you may get addicted to going on your own and find it hard to compromise with your travel companions the next time you cruise. I love love love going on my own. My only suggestion would be to not do anytime dining - get a set table - it's a great way to meet people. Another great way is to go to trivia. I never went to the night clubs or shows, as that's not my thing, but it was nice to see dinner companions and trivia teammates around the ship.
Just my two cents!!

Hi, I'm researching travel insurance, and intend to go with travelguard based upon lots of recommendations in this thread and others. I went to insuremytrip first, and got a quote for $157 for the platinum coverage. Then I went on the travelguard website and got a quote for platinum for $95! I can't see any differences in coverage. Do people generally purchase directly from travelguard? Thanks!
figured it out - I put in just my deposit in the travelguard site, vs. full trip cost in the insuremytrip site. Move along- nothing to see here! : )
