Hawaii cruise is nowhere near as scenic as it used to be, since they no longer cruise past the Na Pali Coast.

We leave for the Pride of America on Thursday for a cruise we've been paying off for like 3 years, I cannot tell you how disappointed we are that we can no longer see the Na'Pali Coast, it was the highlight of our honeymoon.

  2. They stopped sailing by the Napali coast, I got notice of the change for my cruise in two weeks a couple months ago.  Supposedly to save fuel and "the environment" I'm guess it saves them money since it all seems to be about cutting costs fleetwide.

  3. Well for what is worth, out of my office staff of 13, I have two who are taking cruises that week to Bermuda, both are bringing their family that together have 7 children total.   I am not sure what lines they are on.

I don't know so much about "gaming the system" but there are non-stop (best kind of direct flights)

    from US cities:

    New York (JFK & EWR)

    Atlanta

    Chicago

    Dallas/Ft. Worth

    Minneapolis/St. Paul

    Denver

    Salt Lake City

    Phoenix

    San Diego

    Los Angeles

San Francisco (shortest distance non-stop flight)

    San Jose

    Oakland

    Portland

    Seattle

    Airlines:

    Alaska

    American

    Delta

    Hawaiian

    Southwest

    United

What airline NCL books reservations with is uncertain -

NCL may divert Mainland traffic to one common airport for a semi-chartered commercial flight -

Discuss the flight options with NCL for something that is close to your expectations.

At this moment the cabin seating spacing is the best for comfort - when cruising starts

again those middle seats will no doubt be filled and welcome to sardine travel !

This is great information, we took advantage of the flight deal from Newark (it was a deal, compared to what I paid to get there for my honeymoon)  It was worth the savings to roll the dice, so maybe we get lucky and we get a direct flight.   I "linked" 3 cabin reservations when I booked and was told that we would all be on the same flight.   Let's see how that goes.

  5. When I was a kid my parents brought my home books from Bermuda stating Tiny The Tree Frog and it was like a tour of Bermuda. We were there two years ago and bought some of those books for my daughter to read. I know you can find them online and is a fun little adventure for the kids.

  6. Last time we did that we got a certificate in our room that you give to the hostess at dinner. Then for dessert they bring you a cake and some people sing with you. No extra charge. Make sure to also order a normal dessert since this is just a normal cake and doesn’t really compare to something fancy you might normally get.

  7. We are scheduled to go on a cruise on May 1st, however my Aunt has to have surgery and cannot make it. She was the 4th person booked when it was 3rd and 4th person free. How does this affect my plans and what course should I take?

    Thank you in advance.

  8. I have a check in time for 1130 on the breakaway in May. I don't ever recall having one in the past and we really like to get on early and enjoy a lunch. Will we be able to do that with this time or is it possible to show up early and just go on anyway?

    Thanks.
