It'll likely be at Puerta Maya, but this can change. We were once scheduled for Puerta Maya, but when we docked, it was actually at the International Pier.

My mom told us the news on Monday. :-( 20 of us displaced. Luckily, we just found out we can go on the 6th instead.

I would be happy eating peanut butter and jelly all week Im on a cruise :)

After our first cruise (it was a family cruise), everyone was talking about all of the things they ate that were fabulous. I realized that most of the time, I didn't even stop to eat... for most of the cruise I ate grilled cheese sandwiches from room service as I dressed for the day, or when we turned in for the night.

Honestly, there is no way to tell. We were supposed to dock at Puerta Maya, and the day before our cruise, I checked. When we actually docked, we were at the international pier.

We just sailed on the Elation a couple of weeks ago (10/24). It was our first cruise and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

Since the ship goes down the Mississippi for some 7 hours, when do the casinos open on the Elation?

On the first night, we were busy exploring everywhere, so I don't think I even noticed when the casinos opened up until the next day.

What is your favorite part of the ship?

I loved the inside close to where the bars/musical cafe (coffee shop) was. It was quiet, and there were tons of seats set off so that I could watch the water go by.

How does the food compare to other Carnival ships?

This was my first Carnival ship, but I thought the food was great. Mostly ate from the buffet and sometimes room service. When I ate in the dining room, I always tried things I hadn't had before. Sometimes they were great, sometimes not so much, but that was mostly because of my own preferences. I like simple food more than fancy. The pizza was great. My husband ate more than his fair share of hamburgers, and my son ate more than any 5 people should be allowed to eat in a sitting. If you get a chance, order the chocolate cake from room service. YUM!

Where are the smoking areas on this ship?

Smoking is allowed on the Lido deck by the main pool on one side. Also at the Drama Bar (inside). There are usually a lot of people in the smoking section of this bar, and it is hard to find a seat available. We got around this by pulling chairs in from the casino (the bar is right next to the casino). Smoking is also permitted in the Jeckyl and Hyde night club, but we never went in there.

We loved the Elation. LOVED IT! My husband is very shy and introverted, and something about that ship brought out a silly side of him. Our whole family had an absolute blast.

I won't be sailing until the end of October, but if you haven't found anyone by then, I would be happy to get one for you.
