How much more detailed are their walking tours vs using an app or guide book for Rome?
-
Gracie, the walking tour sounds good too... Someone to take us around. What of you wanted a combo of stuff from there walking tours? Are try willing to adjust? Can you do more than 4 hrs?
So walking is more educational and driving is more for farther distances?
-
For Rome, how much more do you see using ril than walking in your own considering everything is close and you have a mapped out walking route?
Do you get history from the driver? Do they actually go with you except for places you need to pay like the coliseum?
-
For Rome is the pick up from airport to center better than using a yellow taxi?
-
For the Vatican how do you secure your spot for tickets online? Is it with credit card hold? Then pay at the gates?
Is it good for the whole day? What if you are late?
For Pompei what is the rate for a guide vs the audio guide?
Thank you

Those that did positano, Pompeii and Sorrento where did you eat for lunch and what was the cost roughly pp?
-
Thank you happy. How much was lunch? Was there an option to eat off the amalfi hill side?
-
Hello happy, where did you eat lunch in Naples? We have the same tour booked. Did you have enough time?
-
I like to know too as I have the blue grotto booked.
-
But the problem arises that for some excursions you may not have that many people so it would cost more to go private. I signed up for tour sharing with RIL but noone has signed up yet. I guess if no one signs up ill either pay more or go with the ship tour.

LOVE your posts! They are so fun to read!

Thank you so much for the info!

Thank you everyone. if i find otheres maybe i woll do a tour but if its just me and my hubby mahne we will walk.
If I wanted to see San Clemente and the underground city, where would be a good way to fit this in? If I had known there was so much to see and do I would of stayed longer.
Is this better to see than the Borgese?
Staying near termini
Sat- Vatican museums, St. Peter's, dinner , main squares, trevi
Sun- coliseum, circus Maximus, forum, pantheon, lunch, basilica di San Clemente, Borgese, dinner
Is this doable on metro or my feet in 2 days? Is the order good?
-
Thank you. Yes I think I may save on the $ as it isn't a Rome in a day tour...
How much is a metro pass? Is there anywhere else I should see like the underground city or appian way or midieval Rome? I'm guessin there are quite far places...

Ok so so far this is what I have and staying center of rome
Sat:
-Cab to center of rome $40-50E??
-get to hotel and drop items off
-Take a cab to Vatican museums $15E (since closed Sunday)
-Decide on Vatican guide or headphones $?
-Walk/cab to main squares, Spanish steps et $15E
-walk back to hotel 10 mins
Sunday (depends if others share if not is $360E worth it for 2 ppl? Even if it was $200 bc I had to split up the Vatican it seems like its not as worth it)
-30 min walk to coliseum
-circus Maximus
-the forum
-pantheon
-what else?
-walk back to hotel
Mon
-walk 10 min to train(termini) to port $15E pp/ Cab $155 E for 2 ppl
2 full suitcases and 1 carryon
Bases on this do you think I should still book RIL for any of these days?
My hotel is near center of Rome. Is there other things I could go see?
Are these doable on my own?
Trying to save some $.

I noticed the Vatican offers tours with a guide for $37 pp euros. Is this the same?

Hello,
I arrive in Rome on a Saturday at noon.
Havent booked a hotel. Only 2 ppl so far.
I was thinking I have to do the Vatican on a Saturday or Monday because it is closed on a Sunday (I had no idea). The rate was so much cheaper for me to do it all in one day, but worried will it be rushed as I wont arrive till noon? What if my flight is delayed?
Does the rome in a day on their website include a guide? Maybe thats why its cheaper for it all together?
What do you think I should do to best save on cost? I would like to use RIL as much as I can but to split up the two days it it so much more.
Is it necessary to have a tour guide for the Vatican? Should I get a hotel by the Vatican? Use them only as a cab?
If I do the Vatican non the Saturday, what should I do on the Sunday to make up those hours?
Sat- Arrive noon, Vatican city (own, tour guide, cab)? Move to Monday??
Sunday- Rest of Rome?
Monday- Transfer to cruise ship?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Bumping this up. Can anyone confirm the new rates for the surf packages? Is it still cheaper before departure with captains club discounts? Why is the price? TY
