  1. Did we confirm that the dome is not adults only? The video is very confusing he states several occasions that it is but in the comments he says its not.

Must admit I surprised it was due to  it would be  Hard to police having one policy for day and night and being touted as family ship strange to ban them.

Do have any news on Park 19 on reason for the delay from videos all looks like it's there and ready to go?

I saw posted that the Arena (theater) is not ready yet. I agree on Park 19. Maybe that is still a work in progress as well.

Must be, considering it was an area Princess made a lot of it’s not a thing that wouldn’t feature on ship tour. Hopefully ready for the second cruise 🤞

It is unfortunate, but appears none of our top cruise bloggers are on this voyage.  Which of our regular super-bloggers is going to be on the Sun first?

9th March sailing has a select few vloggers etc some on the first 5 days some on the last five days 😁

    All is quiet.

Yes I guess it doesn’t help that royals social media have constant footage from crew on icon and last thing the sun had was tour of ship still being built. Faith that all is good though

Some of the venues do appear to need a lot more work but as the video mentions, some have carpet and the final finish covered up to protect them. There are 3,500 people working on it almost 24/7 I believe. Maybe they will be working on it up to the wire and won't be doing a full preview cruise from the shipyard/Trieste. And the 2 day inaugural "launch" in Barcelona on the 6th means they will have more control of where the media can roam and what events they put on.

Yeah agree and to be fair if Princess were not confident then it wouldn’t invited press in!! A busy 6 weeks ahead. I am on the second sailing so fingers crossed for that

If you want to geek out on more detail then this longer video below of the shipyard visit from an Argentinian channel will tick a few boxes- you can switch on subtitles in English to try and catch some of the commentary.

Some interesting sections along the way -

    4:13 Lido deck food venue

    9:49 International Cafe
    10:42 World Fresh Marketplace
    16:57 Mockup cabins
    18:16 Sockets in cabins

Thanks for the share. Am I the only one thinking it’s still got a hell of a lot of work to be done in 6 weeks? Not impossible but still it’s going to be non stop until 8th feb, some of venues still look like shells of what it’s going to be

We did a TA out of Southampton in OCT. a few years ago.  Great cruise, a few overcast days to start and then sunny, smooth and warm rest of trip.  I would guess the number of kids under 16 at less than a dozen. Defiantly a much older group and the majority C&A members.  Americans, Brits and Germans would be the vast majority, somehow are table of 8 ended up with 4 Norwegians and 2 Brits who luckily for us all spoke English .  We have done 4 TA'S and all with ocean view balcony's, well worth it to us just for the fresh air and sunlight.  Only the port side gets daily sunlight, starboard is cold and dreary.  Plenty to do for the kids on Adventure. happy cruising.  PS, we are keeping our fingers crossed as we are sailing Harmony from Barcelona to Florida next Oct. if all goes well.

Aplogies for the delay. Thanks for the information. Are kids would be happy with smaller group of kids.

Unfortunately this cruise is not taken any new bookings like all others over 7 days heading to USA before October. Will just have to wait and see if it returns, gets altered or cancelled (hopefully not)

Adventure of the Seas has already received a number of upgrades.  She pretty much led the way into what became the "Royal Amplification" program.  While her updates occured before that program existed, it was pretty much an "Amplification".  The success with the Adventure upgrades effectively created the motivation to launch amplifications of other ships.

They were planning on some minor changes to officially bring her up to the "Amplification" level but she is already mostly there unlike Explorer who has yet to receive very much in comparison and had her "Amplification" cancelled.

This thread from Adventure has many pictures that mostly focus on the ports of call but there are some Adventure pictures to be found if you skim through the pages.

She now has water slides, a newer kids play pool area and a new mini-golf course that spans two decks.

Great information thanks, will take a look

  9. Thom thank-you for your excellent  detailed reply.

Never thought about the home owners heading back to Florida, makes sense. Our plans are actually to head up Orlando after for week of fun at universal. Only 40 once!

Fully understand that this cruise could change or be cancelled, I guess it depends on permission to start long cruises again.Everything these days seem to be in pencil rather than inked in pen!!!

    Two last questions:

In your opinion is it worth £500 to get outside view on translantic?

Does anyone know the current plans for 2021 refurb? Did I read correct that all 2021 refurbs have been postponed?

    thanks again

  10. Hi All

Looking at the transatlantic from Southampton to Miami next October on the adventure.

I have previously worked on cruise ship and also did a week with marella with my family, so pretty clued up on cruising but I have not done a transatlantic or royal Caribbean before anyone that has any reviews, tips etc.

We have two kids aged 7/9 that will enjoy kids clubs part of the day how have you found kids club on royal Caribbean? ( don’t say by the stairs  at top of ship 🤣)

Adventure of seas what’s it’s like for families?

Finally transatlantic from Southampton any experience and what will clientele be, more older guest on the transatlantic than the normal cruises?

    Thanks in advance
