    Well...I did it myself.

I called 3 other agents and each one came up with a price higher than Princess???

TA wasn't saving me that much and I didn't want to lose the cabin.

Expect a bunch of "stupid questions" from me for the next 4 weeks!

The only stupid questions are mostly the ones not asked 🙂

  2. Welcome to cruise critic. Remember if any are veterans be sure to check out the military benefits link at the bottom of their website to get your on board credit for that also.

In Ft. Lauderdale your ship will be docked at pier 2. There are no special lines entering the terminal. Everyone goes through security with no priority. Once through security the line splits into green and blue lane. There are guides there to point you in the right direction. Blue lane passengers have to stop and pick up their medallion which takes about 5 minutes. Once upstairs, if you arrive before actual boarding, priority boarders wait in one area. Others in another area. Green lane does not mean priority. It just means that you don't have to stop to pick up your medallion, and maybe a few other paperwork issues are missing. Boarding normally begins somewhere between 10:30 and 11:00am. Once it begins it goes quickly.

While this is usually the case, it also depends on if any other princess ships, if any other royal class ships are in at the same time. I have seen them also use 21 I think it is.

yes, they usually have a veterans meet up and as others have said just look at your event listing/patter/newsletter once you get on board every day to see when it will be held.Or perhaps it’s on the daily app? My husband has attended a few when we have been onboard a Princess ship.
Also, if you don’t know already, you can get military onboard credit if you submit your paperwork to Princess and you only have to submit it one time ,not every time you cruise. I believe it’s your DD 214 ,but obviously check with Princess and see what you need to send in or how you send it . We did it along time ago and we don’t remember. ….

Guess I should have read your whole post first 🤣

Can I ask what a CVP is? I booked through princess's website link for a cruise specialist, unfortunately she has given me a LOT of bad information and is very slow to respond. I'm not sure who to contact about this, I'd love any info you can give for me to rectify this situation. My brain is making me feel shy to ask them about it but i should at least try.

CVP is what they used to call them or still do, not sure. Cruise vacation planers, first one they assigned me was also useless. I have had several problems with princess in the past and had been in contact with Ms. Swartz so when I had problems with that cvp she assigned me the one I have now who has been very good.

We just booked a few days ago with the same situation and we were not offered this. Only a balcony Accessible room was available and we were looking for a interior. Such a bummer.

If I were you I'd be demanding to talk to your CVP's supervisor.  My CVP said they must do this per ADA.

Anton - thank you so much for the screen shot. I know more now.

From the way they wrote it - it sounds like the "coffees and teas, hot chocolage, water, smoothies" are lumped in with the "wine and beer" and therefore are limited to 15 per day. Only soda and juice is unlimited? Does that mean I can't get 16 specialty coffees in a single day?? (that would be a caffeine coma!) I didn't realize the 15 limit included other than alcoholic drinks . . .

    Straight from the website "

    Beverages

Drinks, Bottled Water, Specialty Coffee, and Juice Bar

Wide selection of non-alcoholic soft drinks and premium Lavazza coffees. Cocktails, wine and beer up to $15 each. 25% off bottles of wine. Power shots from the unlimited juice bar to boost your immunity and energy." The way I read it is only alcohol drinks count towards the 15 a day....as far as more than 15 coffees a day, that was nothing when I was in the army....rofl....don't know if I could still do it, but will give it one heck of a try next cruise 🤣

Sailed Princess before but never had Medallions.  What are they and what is the benefit of them if any?

The medallions have replaced the keycards you used to get. They unlock the door and use to buy things on board. You can also find shipmates by locating them and have drinks and food delivered to you because they can locate you.

Is the art / customization on one side a.d then the logo on the other side?

    Thanks

Welcome to cruise critic. No, the artwork takes the place of the captain circle level logo...ie the color of the seawitch.

  10. When we did our first medallion cruise in 2017 the wrist bands was part of the free package with everything else you got with the medallions and we have still been using them on every other cruise we've been on and they are still working great.

  11. I get so tired of these big companies pulling crap on us, I go straight to the top anymore. I know Ms. Swartz is no longer CEO of princess but she seems to still have enough pull to get things done when I email her.

I think it depends who you are.   The last time I was on Princess I bought the drinks package, two very expensive excursions and ate at a couple of speciality restaurants.   It was a Christmas cruise and not cheap plus I paid double for my cabin as a solo traveller.  I even gambled a bit.  They contacted me a lot in many different ways for at least a year after.   They wanted me back.

If you travel on a cruise and don't spend any money on board I doubt they will be so enthusiastic about getting you back.

Last cruise we did was a B2B with no packages. Got the cabin which was an accessible balcony cabin for the price of an interior cabin. We also cruise usually only every other year so it's not like we cruise a whole bunch. But this CVP was assigned to us by Jan Swartz so he really seems to take care of us.

It was a 10 day, and I thought I had the right amount at the time but this discovery had me second guessing that. Can you elaborate on what you mean by "The Circle savings amount stays there?" Is it like a placeholder? The fact that it had a credit ID# and expiration date made it seem otherwise.

It is showing that you have future OBC for when you book your next cruise, and it depends on the length of the cruise as to how much you'll get. the expiration date really doesn't mean a whole lot as they was going to try to make a lot of changes by making it so you couldn't have it along with SH OBC, they also changed it from refundable to non refundable. But the main thing is in the circle savings to show you will get at least that amount on each future cruise you take until they decide to take it away from us.

New scooter rented  ultra light weight folding weight 37.5 pounds

my winning bid was in the fair meter

That is the one I will have to try to rent for our DS for our next cruise. Really don't want to try to fit two regular scooters in the cabin.

  15. 7 hours ago, reedprincess said:

If the scooter is 21 inches and the door is 23, then why wouldn't it fit through the door?

Not so much fitting through the door as fitting in the cabin, that's why you see a lot of them stting in the hallways.
