  1. hi everyone. We are a family of 5 from Australia sailing on the anthem of the seas Jan 7 2018 12 night southern Caribbean cruise out of New York. I just wanted some advice about destinations and excursions. We are 46, 41, 18,12 and 7. We like sailing and snorkelling excursions, beach excursions, city sightseeing, adventure excursions, (eg, atv's or zip Line or waterfall walks). Not so interested in historical tours. I have just checked out all the excursions offered by RCI, and would love some feedback about any of them. But would also love to hear from anyone that might have done some tours not offered by RCI. A few years ago I hired a catamaran privately in US Virgin Islands when we did an oasis cruise and thoroughly loved it. Has anyone done anything like this in st kitts, or barabados , or st Maarten, or Antiga, or San Juan? Is it just as good to hire a local taxi and get them to take us to a beach? Has anyone tiki hut in st Maarten? What beaches would anyone recommend at each of these destinations? We don't get to San Juan until 3pm and depart at 11pm. Any recommendations for that destination? Thanks for your help!

  2. A reasonable question Clare. I run my own business and only have January off next year. We have already done an Oasis Caribbean cruise a couple of years ago and a Voyager cruise to New Zealand. We really want to do a Quantum class cruise, however Ovation is the only one in Australia in January, and it only goes to New Zealand at the time we are available, and we have no interest in going there again. We would love to visit New York in winter and also go on Anthem, but are hoping for at least 8-9 days of warm weather.

  3. We are a family of 5 from Australia considering the 12 night Anthem Southern Caribbean cruise on January 7 , 2018. We are leaving our Summer to do this vacation, and just wondered how many days at sea before you guys think it will be warm enough for the kids to use the outdoor pools, and when will it get too cold on the return leg?

Also, my son will be 18, too old for teen club, but too young to drink in the night clubs ( old enough in Australia though). Can anyone foresee this being a problem. I know he can't go to the teen club, but can he enter the night clubs without drinking?
