  5. Does anybody know whether Eden is going to feature on the Apex? And for those that have sailed on the Edge already or are booked to sail on Apex, have you been able to prebook that from speciality dining section on the cruise planner? Any idea of approximate costs for Eden dinner?

  6. For any of you who have already sailed on the Edge/due to sail on the Edge or are booked to sail on the Apex - have any of you been able to pre-book dinner  on the Magic Carpet?? When I say dinner I don’t mean when the Magic Carpet is stationed at Raw on 5, I mean dinner as in ‘Dinner on the Edge’ when it’s stationed on the top deck? Thanks in advance for your answers 🙂

I have been checking every few days and still no dining in the planner. I was thinking of calling or sending an email to see when we could expect it to show up. Hopefully, the info will show up soon! I will make an announcement when it appears. 🙂

Yes i’ve been doing the same! Sounds like you’ve got the right idea about contacting them! I think I’m going to learn to have some patience, haha!! I’ll look forward to your announcement with eager anticipation!! 🙂 Thanks!

Yes, my Apex dining planning isn't open for the Inaugural cruise on April 5. Since they haven't had the dining reveal yet, I suppose that there could be some tweaks in the restaurants (not that I've heard anything, but as with other X ships, not all restaurants are the same on each ship in a class). I've been watching closely for them to open too - hope it is soon! 🙂

Sorry to bother you again on this subject! Could I just ask whether your Apex dining planning has opened up yet for you on the inaugural cruise? 🙂

Those are both by the veranda, most likely (a few of the cabins in real life haven't matched the deck plans)  - they do alternate. You can see the bump out in the deck plans where the bed would be.

    This thread may help.

Thank you so much for the clarification, and also for the link to the extra info 🙂

  10. I’m sure I read once on a thread on here that you are able to tell from the deck plan the configuration of any stateroom, in terms of whether the bed is balcony end or bathroom end! However I now can’t see the thread anywhere!! So does anyone know how you can tell from the deck plans? And more specifically on Edge/Apex ships, does anyone know whether stateroom 9218 has the bed near the verandah door, or the bathroom end? And do the staterooms alternate down the ship with regards to the configuration? As in would stateroom 9222 be the same as 9218 for example?

Hi my TA has sent me an email saying I have to complete and return a signed special needs form with the next 72hrs (that was friday) or I may loose my room.

I asked will I send back to her and she said no to celebrity, but I cannot find the email to send it too.  I cannot search the site or use the link on the from as I am in the UK and blocked from the USA site.  I am away all tomorrow  at my daughter graduation and I am a little worried about leaving this until Tuesday.

Any one know what email this goes to?

    Thanks

Hi there, just wanted to say that the email address for UK guests to send through special needs forms to Celebrity is as follows:

    specialistservicesuk@celebritycruises.com

    Good luck 🙂

Aaah hadn’t even thought about the fact that the Apex dining reveal hasn’t happened yet! Yes I know exactly what you mean, just like to get organised!! 😂

We are on the Millennium April 2020...bookable dining only opened up about a month ago.  Shore excursions still aren't finalized.  There have been itinerary changes that aren't yet reflected in the shore excursions.  I did an on-line chat and was told they are normally finalized about 9 months prior to sail date.

Ah ok, so based on that then I probably shouldn’t expect to be able to see the dining options for another few months for our cruise. Thanks for the heads up about the shore excursions too. Much appreciated 🙂

Things are always changing and it sometimes depends on the ship.  Lately I've been able to book Select Dining times about a year ahead of departure.  Since Apex is a new ship, perhaps it might be delayed.

Yes you make a good point about whether it’s the fact that it’s a new ship! Will just have to keep watching I suppose 🙂 Thanks!

I've been booked for Select Dining times in February/March 2020 on the Silhouette for quite some time.  Have you tried to go to your cruise planner and book options?

Hi, thanks for your reply 🙂 Yes on cruise planner it just says dining options not available, and that’s for speciality and Select Dining times booking 😞 Could I ask whether you have an approx guess at when you’ve had those booked since? As in was it within 12 months of sail date?

  16. Does anyone know how far out from sail-date that the pre-bookable dining opens up on cruise planner? This is for the Apex in Sept 2020, but presuming it will follow same pattern as the other ships too in terms of how far in advance you can book. Currently it says on cruise planner, dining options not available. Any comments gratefully received!

OP, Can I ask which September cruise had such a huge price drop?  I'm actually finding Azamara cheaper in the Med than Celebrity in September.  Thanks

Hi so sorry for the delay in reply, was ill for quite a few days! The cruise was on the 16th September Apex sailing!

The OP will need to access the US site via a VPN to overcome the geographic divert.

Thank you for this advice! This is exactly what I ended up doing! Still recovering from the shock of just how much better the US version of the website is, in comparison to our UK one!!

Are you sure you can’t?  I’m in the USA and I just Googled Celebrity Cruises UK and got the U.K. website.  Couldn’t you do the reverse?

Tried it on several devices, and every time you type in the US one it automatically changes it to the UK version 😞 I’m presuming the US one is www.celebritycruises.com? If so everytime  I type that here, it just then sends you straight to the .co.uk version! 🙈

Alternative, one should be able to obtain the same information from a telephone call to Celebrity. A little gentle subterfuge might be required: perhaps a group requiring a number of accessible cabins is considering booking the same cruise as you. The organiser would need to understand the availability of such cabins before finalising the booking.........

We are talking about £1800 here.......

I’m planning on using the subterfuge approach with Celebrity UK today, following your suggestion! Thank you so much for the advice 🙂 Fingers crossed that there are still accessible cabins left in our category!

  21. 12 hours ago, CHEZMARYLOU said:

On Celebrity's US web site you can see the available accessable cabins by doing a dummy booking and selecting "I need a wheel chair accessible cabin" On an Equinox sailing in September 2020 it is showing 7 out of 8 available.  If you cannot do this from the UK site, post your ship, sailing date and category and someone can check the US site for you to give you an idea of what is available.

Thanks so much for this advice, not really sure why I didn’t of going down that route in the first place! I think it’s because our TA is as far from proactive as you can imagine! Have just read a reply that someone wrote to your post, about also garnering the information from phoning Celebrity in the UK itself. So I will try that first before bothering anybody on here to do my dirty work! Thank you for the heads up! Wish we were able to view the Us site here in the UK too!!

I agree with AK1004, most customers don’t focus on what SR except general types. Even many of ‘us’ experienced cruisers who spend a lot of time talking (and posting!) about cruising, don’t make specific SR’s a big deal.

Maybe it’s because I’ve done lots of X cruising, I have a good feel of locations and SR types, but when my TA gives me a SR, I’ll give it a glance, but that’s about it.

I do focus a bit on a few ‘SR wants’ that I like. I’ll shoot for one of the balcony SRs that has a bit bigger balcony because of a bump out but there are few and usually gone early; and for M-Class, I try for a deck 9 or 8 SR up forward because I like to zip up to the T-spa pool in the AM. Neat. But aside from a few such as that, I love a balcony and if a concierge is not much more than a standard SR, thats my range.

By the way, I’ve never shot for an upgrade that gets us into a Suite. Use to go with Oceanview SRs, then they offered me a balcony for just a few bucks more and I went for it.....and like so many others, I’ve never gone back, which is the reason Lines do that! And I don’t want to get hooked on Suites!!

Thanks for your reply 🙂 Totally agree that for normal circumstances where there are multiples and multiples of the same stateroom in a category, that one stateroom is the same as another so it really doesn’t matter! But with the requirement of an accessible cabin as part of a booking of 3 cabins (2 regular and 1 accessible) it puts a completely light on the situation. Due to how few there are on board, especially in certain categories such as Concierge or Aqua. And then the step up to an accessible suite is a

massive increase, so can’t go down that route really! So if there are zero accessible cabins left in concierge and you cancel your concierge accessible  cabin, it’s taking a massive risk that you don’t get it back upon rebooking! Hence the issue!

  23. 8 hours ago, ak1004 said:

You might be surprised, but most people actually don't really care what cabin they get. Unless of course they have specific needs like accessible cabin. We have been in alt cabins, forward cabins, high decks, low decks. Couldn't care less. I know that on this forum, there are topics specifically dedicated to cabins, with hundreds of posts, but most cruisers would laugh if you tell them that people spend all the energy and time researching different cabins.

My point is that for most people, cancelling and rebooking would be no issue at all if they can do it at lower price.

Again, if you have some specific issues like sea seakness and prefer to be on mid ship, that's a different story.

I totally get what you’re saying, and I definitely agree in normal circumstances this wouldn’t necessarily be a massive deal, as could easily cancel and rebook same category rooms especially this far out form sail date. But because one of our cabins has to be fully accessible, that is where the problem lies, given there are so few on board the ships! Hence the risk factor for cancelling and rebooking! In some categories there are literally only 2 accessible cabins available in the first place!
