1. Now that would be sweet

Add a Royal Caribbean app that can interface through the ships wi-fi system to allow making reservations (spa, shows, specialty dining, and such) as well as supplying a few phone to phone texting capability on board. Oh yeah, one all-inclusive internet package based on data use age instead of a pet minute stone aged method of billing.

  2.
Now that's funny :D Could you imagine!
The more I think about it, I'm leaning toward it being Bobby Flay. Only because he doesn't have other CL affiliations (at least none that I can think of....someone correct me if I'm wrong) AND because he has both burger joints as well as fine dining in his current restaurant portfolio. That would mean they could feature his Burger Palace (which would be a big step up from Johnny Rockets IMO... except for the milkshakes, of course :p) OR they could go with his fine dining and do an upscale pay restaurant, or BOTH. I guess time will EVENTUALLY tell (although they are certainly good as keeping their mouths shut )
I spoke with a national sales rep a few weeks ago and asked when more details might be forthcoming. Her response was that those of us on cruise critic usually know the latest info before the sales staff even has a clue.

  3.
My guess would be Wolfgang Puck. He's already "branched out" to airports, etc... would be amazing pizza place instead of the usual sorrento's hockey pucks!

But my dream chef: Nobu Matsuhita! that would take Izumi to another level. Don't think even RCI could afford him though!
My vote would be for Lagasse. Emeril's is one of my all time faves and is on par (IMHO) with the quality currently presented in 150 on the Oasis Class ships. Personally would LOVE to see a low country/Creole/Cajun inspired specialty dining experience.

  4. My cabin type (D-1) has only gone up $100/pp for the same cruise. I booked the day after reservations opened for C&A members. Oh well. Still cheaper than the D-1's on my upcoming Allure cruise, so I feel like I'm getting a bargain on Quantum. :p

There are only 3 full suites remaining on my sailing, 3 Family Jr Suites remaining as of yesterday, an no regular Jr suites remaining. Out sailing has gone up an average of $300 per person regardless of cabin category. Kinda makes the 45 minutes on hold with C&A the day booking opened worthwhile now.

  5. Lol!!! Thank you, I was thinking the exact same thing! :p

But really, I said the 3rd Oasis class ship, did I say Oasis or Allure? No! The reason I say the 3rd one that is currently being built is because they can modify parts of the ship to accommodate the weather. Now that is probably not likely so just like "Overtyme" said, it is perfect weather up here from May - September.

The shows aren't even an issue...I believe the show in the Aqua Theater is only two nights of the vacation so they would simply push the show back to two days when it is in the Caribbean.

Really it is not an issue to put one of these ships up here, cold weather ship or not.

While Royal Caribbean has not said anything about a home port for the third Oasis class, I'm putting my money on San Juan. I read not too long ago so etching about renovations beginning at San Juan to accommodate larger vessels requiring a deep water port. Hmmmmmm.

  6. For what it's worth since I have not been on a Freedom Class ship... A few years ago the partner and I had the Royal Suite on Explorer of the Seas (also located immediately below a whirlpool area). I never noticed any noise from the whirlpools, but the sound of deck chairs being dragged about was quiet annoying when trying to take a mid afternoon nap on the balcony.

  7. DH and I booked the Quantum for the Feb. 20th 2015 sailing as well... Hope to see some of you on our Roll Call and then onboard in --- oh, about 602 days (almost into the 500's now). Sounds like it will be a party! :)

However, first up for us.. Disney trip with the family over the summer and then DH and I anniversary trip in October on Explorer of the Seas to Bermuda (114 days!)

Happy anniversary in advance. We did a birthday celebration on EOS a couple of years back (my first RCI sailing), the customer service and friendliness of the ship's staff won me over and made me loyal to Royal.
