THANKS for this review. I am trying to decide what to do in StM this time around and really want to see maho. Our boys were too young last time there so we skipped maho but older now (19&17) so we are gonna check it out but we are back & forth with a tour vs cabs. Is there enough to do there or within walking distance?

There's not too much around-the main attraction really is the airport. However, you've got the bar where you can grab a drink and a meal. People were swimming when we were there but the beach area isn't too large. Cabs were plentiful so you could easily get back to the port or have a driver take you somewhere else.

We did tour 2 in April. There were a lot of pros but I can't recommend the tour. We were cramped in the bus with 25 or so other people. It was one of the buses that had fold down middle seats (jump seats) that were incredibly uncomfortable. The biggest disappointment was Maho, which I had been looking forward to the most. Our guide (Mailman) told us that we would see 5-6 incoming international flights. We saw 1. Not sure why he would tell us this, the flight times are posted and once at the bar, could see he was wrong. The time we were told to be back on the bus was 5 minutes before another one was scheduled to come in. I was frustrated he didn't give us those extra minutes.

We had the same concerns too. We were so panicked to get to the right spot. The instructions I had been given were very wrong so we had to ask numerous people to end up in the correct spot. Once we rushed there, we had to wait in a line for 15 minutes to make payment. After waiting for another 5-10 minutes, we boarded the minibus. Way too many people on the bus (25 or so) for my liking. Was surprised by the outstanding reviews.

Another vote for Royston in his open air van. Besides hitting the highlights, we also did some unusual, off the beaten path type things. The only beach time we had was when we ate lunch for about an hour or so.

Royston is amazing. Make sure you go in his open air van with him though. Our tour only had 6 people and it was so much nicer than other tours with 15+ people. His van is smaller than other tour buses which allows him access to roads and viewpoints that other tours can't get to.

Loved your review! We got off the ship yesterday after the 8 day sailing. I enjoyed your Carnival vs. RCI comparisons because Carnival had been the only cruise line I had done before this cruise. I completely agree about the burgers and ice cream! Also, we enjoy Carnival's pizza much more. Sorrento's was a huge disappointment.

We LOVED St. Kitts. Best cruise port we have ever been to. I give the credit to our tour guide though. We went around the entire island, saw beautiful beaches, black rocks, gorgeous views, the fort, caribelle batik, romney manor, chased monkeys in the jungle, fed sugar cane to donkeys, saw lizards and crazy caterpillars, ate some amazing local BBQ and a dessert called sugar cake. If you go ever find yourself back on the island...check out Royston Tours. Highlight of the trip!!

Oh, and we were a couple of the not so smart cruisers that stayed in a Promenade stateroom. I had done a lot of research and talked to multiple people who had stayed in those rooms with no problem. We knew it would be loud until midnight when the shows and parades finished up and that was fine since we are out and about past then anyways. However, the 24/7 music was much louder than anticipated. Even with ear plugs, I woke up to the base music multiple times a night.

Do you happen to know the order of the menus served in the MDR each night? Thanks!

I've heard it's Friars or Cockleshell but curious to how he chooses. Thanks!
