  1. My husband and I were quarantined also on Carnival ship due to a bad flu outbreak. We  also both had flu vaccine so it did not hit us as bad. Carnival took great care of us as room service brought everything we needed. They gave us mask to wear from doctor office where we diagnosed, given medication and then sent to our room.  Luckily it was the last 2 days of our vacation and on third day we disembarked and no longer contagious.

When we went to pay our bill at the end, Carnival had generously refunded our last two days and gave us this amount as credit for our next cruise. 😍 We were very impressed. They didn't have to do this, but it has made us a customer for life.

  2. We are cruising on Paradise in October. I have been all over these boards trying to find more information of the dry dock changes. I found a another post with a link to Carnival Cruise Line Miami Blog on Facebook. Here's the link to the actual album with all of the photos.

Wow! Thanks so much for posting the link. Getting excited...sadly quite a long wait until March.

  3. good morning...

We are considering a cruise on the paradise next spring. We are looking at the jr suites, and a bit concerned about sea success. Is there a lot more movement on the new deck vs staying on the 11th floor?

    Thanks :)

You may want to check out deckplans website. They show pics of rooms. I was considering a jr. suite also, but didn't bc there is a white crane lift/bar in your view on the balcony. It's not that big of a deal. Just a thought. Everyone has different preferences.

  4. Last time I booked onboard they charged it to the S&S card but you could have the cards put on your S&S card at guest services. There is a separate desk for excursions and they had specific hours. I loved the Havana bar. The decor was very modern and they usually had a roaming bar waiter so it was easy to get drinks. There are large windows looking out the back of the ship. Even in the evenings when the specialty restaurants are operating there seating is off to the side and you could still eat back there (with food from other venues).

This is very helpful information. Thank you ...getting excited :)

  5. Thanks for the information on Havana bar. I had heard it was less crowded and thought it would be a great place to avoid the crowds sometimes. What about guest services? Does it handle purchase of excursions? We received AE Reward Carnival Gift cards and they don't work for the online booking, just for onboard purchases, so going to purchase the rest of our excursions on ship.

  6. You did not specify under what fare you booked or if you're past final payment so that will kind of influence the answers you get. Generally, if you're outside your final payment date you can make such a change but it will likely be considered a cancellation and re-booking and the new reservation will be under the current prevailing rates and perks (if any).

Final payment is not due until Oct. and we are booked under past guest. What do you think about the deck change? We haven't cruised but once, so not sure about deck 10. Any thoughts?

  7. We stopped flying in the day of several years ago. The weather was okay, but there were some mechanical issues with the plane. Long story short, by the time we made it to Miami, it was about an hour after the ship had sailed out of port. A representative of the cruise line (RCCL) made arrangements for us to take a plane to Nassau (the first port) to catch up with the ship. You only have to miss sail away once to become a firm believer in flying in the day before. clear.png?emoji-wink-1685

ouch! Thanks for the tip. Thought we'd try flying in day of but after reading this not going to chance it.

  8. I'm booked for a deck 10 spa balcony, but originally wanted a lower level due to concerns about motion sickness. I see there are openings on lower decks, but will Carnival let you change to a lower deck and lower priced room? Also, is there much motion sickness problem? I sailed deck 7 on Conquest my first cruise and had no problems but not sure about upper decks. I think Sunshine is a bigger ship. Maybe there won't be any problems with motion.
