  1. We've never ordered the cheers package, as our onboard bill has never been over $350 for the both of us. You can carry on one bottle of wine each - I think it has to be the 750ml size, but I will be double checking that for my upcoming cruise. Any canned drinks you order for your cabin can be carried anywhere on the ship. It's not like they have a sticker saying that it is from your room vs. from a bar. We don't carry our wine bottle around, just pour into a glass to enjoy on the balcony or wherever. I've also been known to drink wine from a yeti, so I might be a little bit of a redneck.

It is the 750 ml bottle you can bring. I think you can can still bring a 12-pack of canned soda per person too. I use my yeti too.

  3. I was considering purchasing the cheers package for my husband, but I do not drink due to medical reasons. I think it is asinine that I would have to be charged for the same package. I also do not see this is a good deal when you cannot use your cheers package on the carnivals private islands. On port days I do not see how the package would be good even on those days. I will say that this is one thing that Norwegian has a big one up on, not to mention that Norwegian runs promotions all of the time to get a free ultimate beverage package. I think carnival needs to step up to the plate and consider making some changes to their drink package. I do love cruising with carnival though.

  4. After cruising on Norwegian and getting the ultimate beverage package for free (they run that promo all of the time), it makes it really hard to want to sail with Carnival. I love Carnival...don't get me wrong. I feel they should run some beverage promos occasionally to compete with other cruise lines. You can't even use your beverage package on their private islands. You can with Norwegian. Also, the policy of everyone in the cabin having to purchase the package is unfair. Does anyone know if there are any exceptions to this rule if someone can not drink due to health, religion or alcoholism?

  5. Is it helpful

I saw this Intelligent Cruiser computer download for $37. Actually stumbled upon it on Pinterest. The guy supposedly worked as an officer on a few different cruise lines and says he can give tips that save tons of money from booking, on the cruise like photography, special dining and onboard shopping. He even claims how to get free airfare. Does anyone know about this or used it. Is this legit? Thanks all!
