  1. Has anyone hired a car at Greenock Cruise Terminal lately? I am struggling to find one to book for May 19. I really want to drive to Inverary Castle whilst we are in port that day.

I have looked through the old threads and contacted places with no help so far :(

    Thanks in advance :)

  2. Hi! I’m trying to find info/photos on the different types of Oceanview cabins on Rhapsody of the Seas.

I’ve searched but can’t find a definite list or photos of the differences. We definitely don’t want to be in one of the cabins with 2 port holes. What are the cabins with the extra large windows?

We’ve previously been on Liberty back in 2013 in an OV cabin so wondering if similar?

We’re normally on Celebrity now but found a great deal for Greece/Croatia and thinking we might try Rhapsody. Is she due to go into dry dock soon?

Appreciate any help. Thanks a lot! [emoji4]

  3. I’m from the UK. A few days I ago (and just before final payment was due) I noticed that Celebrity were offering a better deal than when I’d booked early. So I rang them and ended up cancelling my original booking (and losing my deposit) and rebooking the new offer. I kept the same cabin and ended up several hundred pounds better off and with more OBC.

Hi, can I check - did you book under the Early Booking Guarantee and had you made any previous changes? thanks :)

  4. We're the same, booked under the Early Booking Guarantee with a UK TA for May 19. We did price US TAs but they were actually more expensive even including the perks.

I think we are going to use the one change you can make now and add in the classic drinks package, it is another £80 each but looking at the various deals for the same cruise in 2018 it's comparable. Will keep an eye out for anything that is much lower before final payment then it would be worth cancelling and rebooking despite forfeiting the £300 deposit.

  5. I'm originally from Belfast so would enjoy a cruise from there. Used to enjoy taking the bike for a blast down the Sydenham bypass and then on to Bangor and the 'Dee! ;)

Would be fab if we could board from here some day! We are 'northies' - we are by the lough so we love going down and seeing the ships sail in and out. I work at the docks too so it's a bit strange to see them sailing past the office window at times LOL. Thanks for your replies :)

  6. Got these by googling 'long term parking Dublin Port'.

    http://www.dublinport.ie/tourism/getting-around/

go to the bottom of the page and it mentions parking.

    or....

    http://www.dublinport.ie/tourism/cruise-dublin/

again if you go to the end of the page it offers car parking. Unfortunately the link isn't working, but perhaps a tweet to the Port Authority would elicit a response.

Thanks for that! Couldn't find that for looking :')

€50 a week, might be better getting the bus from Belfast or a lift down the road instead :D

  7. Despite being in Dublin more times than I can remember ;) this is something we are not sure of and google is not being our friend

A while off yet, we are sailing from Dublin next year on Celebrity Reflection and we are planning to drive down from Belfast, does anyone know if there are parking facilities available at the port?

Any locals know if there is anymore word on the possible terminal being built at Dun Laoghaire?

    Thanks! :)

  8. We done this on Eclipse May 17 in Southampton as we had a late flight. Think it was around $39 each

We had to meet at the Passport Bar at around 8am and we had to give in passports to get temporary ID as your seapass Card is no longer valid. If you want to buy anything you have to use your credit card.

We found we felt we were in the way a bit, until 11am no where was open apart from Al Bacio and Oceanview, some lounges were closed too, we ended up lying by the indoor pool for a few hours.

The pool opened at 11am. We used the changing rooms in the spa area. Everyone was starting to come aboard so the upselling was in full swing!

It was interesting though to walk around the ship between 9-11am when turnaround was happening, only a handful of passengers and the staff didn’t stop cleaning and tidying.

We went to the Oceanview Cafe for lunch before we left. Retrieved our passports from security at the exit and handed in our temporary visitor passes. Our cases were waiting for us down in the hall. Think we left about 3pm.

If you want to use phone charger or hair straighteners etc we found no plugs in the changing rooms. Guest Relations charged my phone for me before we left. All the sockets around the corridors are EU so make sure you have a European adaptor if you want to charge anything.

Would we do it again? - only if we ‘had’ to, would prefer an earlier flight.

    Hope this helps:)

  9. Hope you have a fabulous time in my wee country! :D

That is a lot to do in that timeframe, but 'dooable'. You might be best trying to find a private tour that could take you straight to the Causeway as soon as you disembark then back to Titanic Belfast, it would be better to do Titanic Belfast last as you will be closer to the ship to get back incase you are running close on time.

It would take approx 1.5 hours max to the causeway if you go straight there, spend a couple of hours there then back down to Belfast again.

Also if you can prebook your tickets for Titanic Belfast it will save you having to queue, just incase it is busy when you arrive. They are entrance timed tickets so plan this part carefully. You can spend another couple of hours going round Titanic Belfast (which I love!)

    Hope this helps a bit?

  10. Sorry if this has been posted recently, we're looking to book the Fjords cruise for May 2017.

We've priced some UK & US agents and Celebrity direct. There don't seem to be any 'perks' included just an early booking price guarantee. We've had the drinks package & OBC in the past and we're hoping to get it again. The prices have went up a good bit good compared to quotes last year.

I know it's how long is a piece of string / crystal ball /personal choice question but should we hold out and wait or just get it booked.

Anyone heard any 'rumours' if the perks / 1-2-3 offer will be back again?

Thanks for reading my ramble! :)

  11. We were on this sailing also... WOW! We absolutely loved it. Totally agree with the OP, everything from cabin to staff to food to service to ports of call etc - everything was perfect.

We didn't want to leave the ship and return to normality! LOL

We were told the long queues at Barcelona port check in was due to an incident on the (road) bridge leading to the port that morning backing up all the traffic. So most people were arriving at the same time to check in. We have went through this port before she checked in within minutes so something has definitely happened earlier in the day. Though this did not impact out holiday at all. It was a good opportunity to chat to others in the queues :)

Enjoy if you are sailing on the Equinox :)

  12. Thank you everyone, really helpful replies :)

17th isn't open for booking yet, hopefully in the next week. 9.15 is def too early we agree. We might just end up booking skip the line tickets and walking around the Vatican museums on our own and hopefully get through the exit door from the Sistine Chapel to St Peter's basilica by tagging on the end of a group or looking like we know what we are doing LOL ;):D

  13. Hi!

I have been reading lots of the posts about this but I am still confused  :o

We will be in Civitavecchia on Equinox Sat 17th Oct, we want to go to the Vatican and do one of the guided tours with them. they are only at 8.30, 9.15 & 11am that I can see?

If we get off the ship asap after docking, we could most likely make the 7.44am or the 7.58 BIRG train. (Does this stop at San Pietro station?) I think this is the closest station? How long is the walk to the museum entrance, from what I am reading it is at the far side of the Vatican to San Pietro station? (we have been at this station before but then went onto get the metro to the Coloseum on our last cruise)

Do you think we would make the 9.15am tour? I'm thinking the 11am one is a bit late and we may be better off just purchasing skip the line tickets without the tour.

Appreciate any help/advice on this - thank you! :)

Sorry meant to add is the port shuttle bus drop off point still the temporary one or back at the Fort?

  14. Lol' date=' yes!! There are a few of us freaks here and there! I don't drink alcohol either, but I'll be imbibing, since we will have the premium drink package. I'll stick with the low sugar selections, vodka, and tequila. I hope I don't pay too dearly!! :)

Don't feel guilty, life is too short!

    Happy cruising! (and eating!)

    Susan[/quote']

Thank you fellow freak ;) I'm the same with alcohol now too but I will have a few cocktails :)

Happy cruising and eating indeed! Lol :)

  15. My wife has Celiac and we always send in the Special Needs form. Not sure if it apply to a 'preference' which is not a diet requirement. But here is the link to the form, you can give it a try.

At the bottom of the form is an area for 'other' needs, you can put your question there and they do respond back.

Thank you, I done this regarding Gluten Free & Almond milk and they say it is available, just ask the waiter :)
