  1. Has anyone used Xtrem or Shore Excursions Group to book an outing at Chakanaab? I am trying to decide if these places are legit. We've been to Chakanaab many times but normally we just book the excursion through the cruise, but this time Carnival Vista doesn't have the excursion package at Chakanaab we are interested in, mainly the laser tag and the tubing, possibly the zip line and sea lion show. We are on the Vista in May. If anyone's used Xtrem or Shore Excursions Group to book their excursion I'd be interested to hear how it went, or if there is another recommendation. Our other thought is to just taxi over to Chakanaab and purchase onsite what we are interested in doing. Thanks in advance!

  2. I am hoping for some Baked Alaska! Hoping for a good Surf and Turf night, on the RC, I asked for a Surf and Turf, and was brought a whole lobster eyes and everything. I just wanted the tail! I see you mentioned Day 2, do you recall what day the other formal night is? We are going on the 6 day cruise from Miami. We are trying to stick to the main dining room most nights, and make a reservation for Cucina Del Capitano possibly in the middle of the week.

  3. Hi, we are set to sail in May on the Vista. Does the main dining room menu stay somewhat the same through the year? I'm wondering if there is a Surf and Turf night, or a night they serve Baked Alaska for dessert and what night that may be, or if there is a way to know the menu for the week we are sailing? Just curious, debating on making reservations in some of the onboard restaurants but don't want to miss some particular things in the main dining room.

  4. Looking at the deck plan for the Vista. What is the open gray space between the rooms 9379 and 9382 back to 9397/98? Is this a wall and service elevator area? Just curious, I am reserving a cabin in the area and wondering of any experience. Or thinking of deck 7 or 8, same area. I know the Lido is right above, any experience/opinions with these balcony cabins?

  5. Hi,

I'm looking into a few Superior Oceanview Balcony room locations and have a few questions. I'm considering staterooms on 6th deck rooms 6650, 6350, and then some cabins on the far back on the starboard side 10th deck 1388, 1390, 1392. We would probably use the pool a lot, kids club, coffee, and I like to check out the photos and promenade area. So I can't really decide on pros and cons of either locations other than noise/views/privacy/and close to stairs or elevators (I like being close).

The 6th deck staterooms are near the bump out. Has anyone had a room near the bump out, but not on it, that can comment on if the view is blocked to the side much? Also does it lack privacy at all because of the bump out balconies? I noticed the deck below there are lifeboats, which is fine because they are tucked in. Then there's some sort of a walkout on either a deck or two below? What is that? I saw it on the profile of the ship pictures (I've never been on the Liberty). Does this limit privacy as in can they see up to the 6th deck balconies, or is it fun to see down to this?

Staterooms on the 10th 1388, 90, 92: How are those?

Any other recommendations for a party of 4 in the Superior Balcony Stateooms?

  6. Thank you! I think I am leaning more towards just doing a land trip at Disney after all. I looked at the ship features after posting here on RCL website and now pretty much thinking maybe it's not the best choice at the moment, and trying to do way too much and on what maybe not have the most extensive kids program for our age group. Our next cruise when we go on one will be number 10 for the DH and I and I wanted to save up for a special 7 night trip on a newer ship, would love to sail on a Quantum class ship.

Hopefully in late 2016. I've been on smaller ships myself, so not minding, but I think now when I factor in budget it makes sense to wait. The kids might be harder to entertain. We did the Nassau port last year with the Carnival Magic and had a fabulous time on that ship, but then it was a bigger ship, vacation geared toward a cruise, the kids program was also pretty decent so the boys were entertained between water slides on deck, movies in the room and the kids club events and themes at night.

  7. Has anyone used the kid's program on the RCL Enchantment of the Seas out of Port Canaveral? My kids will be 8 and 6 this summer. We are going to Disneyworld in June this year for 3 to 4 days, trying to plan that now, and I'm researching a 3 day cruise out of Port Canaveral also just in case it's possible, but not on DCL, due to the price not in our budget. I'm curious on any experience taking your kids on Enchantment of the Seas, how the children's program was or just the cruise in general, did you combine this plus a trip to Disney, etc., and was there easy access to and from WDW in Orlando! We will be flying into Orlando Airport.

    Thank you!:)
