  1. I realize this doesn't mean the CL won't be back on deck 11 and open on October 27th but I'm on the sailing on October 27th in a suite and received a email from Concierge's Israel and Rami regarding using the suite lounge on deck 17th, no mention of CL being available on deck 11 even though they know our suite is on that deck. Also when I replied back with a request, I asked when Coastal Kitchen would be open and they also gave the date of November 8th.

  2. Thanks Graham, it would be nice to be lucky for a change. ;)

RETNAVY1996, thanks for the heads up. I will call on Monday. I have received emails in the past about slot tournaments onboard but I'm fairly sure they didn't send me one for the actual cruise I'm sailing on, LOL!

  3. Thank you for the tip. We will try out the Doghouse. If anyone has any suggestions for us of places to try or things to go, we appreciate any and all suggestions. Because we got back late from our tour and ate lunch late we were wavering between eating dinner in the Windjammer or doing the late seating instead of first.

Artbcpa, thanks for taking the time out of your cruise to live blog about it. Do you know if the Solarium Bistro is still open for dinners by reservation and a extra charge?

  4. Graham, if the VIP lounge is open and I have access to it, I'll let everyone know what I find out about it and the new program. :)

Smiley, I'm not NOIR any longer, I went down to Platinum this year with M-Life because I mainly gamble at Venetian/Palazzo.

Thanks for the information on the amount of M-Life tier points per Club Royale points. I'm mainly a slot player so that works for me.

I was NOIR for 2 years when the requirement was 1 million points or more. However I went down to Platinum this year because it's now by invite only and most trips I gamble and stay at Venetian/Palazzo. From what I heard from friends who are currently NOIR it now takes at least 2 million points or more per year and M-Life hosts want to see them earned at a certain rate within X amount of days of a trip. Mainly I'm guessing they don't want locals to slowly earn NOIR by gambling weekly at a lower player rate.

I'm mainly a slot player and most of my Las Vegas Trips are written up in detail on lasvegasdaze and will give you a idea of my slot bets which are all over the place.

BTW, the best thing about M-Life NOIR IMO other then automatic limo pickup to and from the airport was the 7 night free cruise on Royal Caribbean in a ocean balcony cabin and since you can get the limo picked up easily at any M-Life level if play for that trip hits a certain level, the main perk is the cruise.

  5. I called Casino Royal yesterday to inquire about the VIP area of the casino and was told that you will only be allowed in the VIP area of the casino if you are already qualified for Casino VIP. I asked how to become a casino VIP and was told that you had to play to qualify. I would have to play a certain average bet for slots and/or tables.... I asked what that number was and was told that I would need to talk to a host on my Oasis cruise on the 27th of October, at which point the gentleman took my ressi number and noted the account and sent a note to a casino host to tell him that I wished to play to qualify. I was told that once I do that I need to tell every dealer at each table I play at that I was playing to qualify and give them my seapass card. He tried to link my Mlife card but he said I wasn't high enough in the Mlife chain to be able to link my card to Casino Royal.

He did say that once you qualify there is no keep up (you don't loose status) if I don't play that way again. He did tell me of course that it would all be changing on March 15th tho. boo

I was shocked to find out that everytime I gave my seapass card in the past that they did nothing to keep track of it.... This will be our 4th cruise this year and I usually gamble quite a bit late every night, and I just always assumed they kept track when I gave them my seapass card, but nope...you have to tell them to rate you

    bummer

I'm also on the October 27th cruise, do we know yet if the VIP area will be set up by then or is it already in place during the TA?

I was NOIR with M-Life last year and Platinum this year so I got the free cruise on Allure last year and a big discount on my suite for the Oasis cruise via M-Life, however when I was on the Allure last year they did track our play via our seapass card and gave us the Club Royale VIP player letter at the end of the cruise along with freebies like a T-Shirt, Key chains, etc…I've been told on this cruise unlike the one on Allure that we will also acquire M-Life points for any gambling we do on the Oasis of the Seas.

  6. Since it's beside Coastal Kitchen which is a suites only restaurant, it must be for suites only. Although Coastal Kitchen allows JS guests in, too, along with gold card PC members. So maybe there will be more than just full suite access. Or maybe it's a lounge for suite guests only but not free drinks. Who knows? They don't make everything very clear.

    Gina

I don't think Coastal Kitchen allows JS guests in too. Of course it could be that this information that RCCL just added to the deck 17 plans of the Oasis of the Seas is incorrect. Wouldn't be the first time. :)

    Public Areas

    Coastal Kitchen

Exclusively for guests in Grand Suites and above as well as Pinnacle members, a fresh new fusion of California cool and Med-inspired taste.

    Suite Lounge

Guests staying in Grand Suite-level rooms and higher enjoy access to this lounge serving complimentary continental breakfast and evening drinks.

  7. Thanks Bob and Life is Good Cruising.

I had not seen the list. Seems the reciprocal is worth less to D+ cruisers than it is to M life players. ( I am told for m life it is free cruise, free alcohol in casino, specialty dining, and most of the D + perks )

I am going on a junkit so the room is comped anyway. I was hoping ( at least) for some meal comps. No guess if i play enough I can earn some comps. I'll make a stop at the MLife desk. Did you need to speak to a casino host to have the room and meals comped.

Thanks again. Of I get anything, I'll report back.

    M

The reciprocal isn't as good because M-Life really doesn't know if the D+ member is a gambler or not, where if M-Life members are Platinum or NOIR level it pretty much is a given to RCCL these people will gamble on the cruise.

While you can ask to speak to a host the M-Life player's card desk can also review play and give you comped room and meals.

The person who received the free buffets was not comped by the cashier but by M-Life express comps they had earned by playing slots or table games during their trip that likely the cashier saw was attached to his/her M-Life card and then the cashier subtracted the express comps from the price of the buffet after using the BOGO. As you play slots at any of the M-life casinos in addition to earning tier points to take you up card levels, you earn point play (for free play) and express comps to use for food, beverage, spa and other room charges.

    Hope this helps.

  8. I have some questions about Oasis of the Seas.

Will CL lounge be open before cabins so I can make show reservations immediately upon boarding or will access to deck 11 be blocked due to it mainly being staterooms? We are on the first sailing after the TA and currently customer service is telling us we won’t be able to make online reservations for shows so I wanted to do that immediately upon boarding.

We’re in a Owner’s Suite and plan on eating breakfast on our balcony especially since my Mom is in the connecting stateroom and won’t have access to the CL, but I’ve been reading that a lot of suite passengers seem to prefer to eat breakfast at the CL, is there a reason for that? Anyone know what the breakfast menu is for the suites? I’ve seen menus for the CL but not a breakfast menu if you order in to the suite.

If I have the concierge make show reservations for us will they also book the same show/time for my Mom whose reservation is linked to ours? I understand that since we want to sit together we won’t be able to use suite seating at the shows since Mom is not in a suite.

Since my Mother is in a connecting non-suite stateroom will she be allow in the suite waiting area with us to board at the same time as us?

  9. Loving your review, it's just fantastic!

We had signed up for the tour you did in St. Maarten before you posted this so it's great to know in advance what to expect. While I'm normally not in to shopping but for some reason mixing my own perfume along with drinking rum and eating makes up for the selling end of things. I'm really glad to find out that we get some time to spend at the beach looking around.

BTW, is that a clock I saw in one of your photos between the two iPod/Iphone docking stations on the desk? If so, no need to bring a little alarm clock onboard Allure?

  10. Gambee, this is the 3rd time I've read your review recently so it's way past time to thank you for writing it and posting all your great photographs. Thanks so much!

I'll be on Allure in May and it's the first time I will have sailed on Royal Caribbean as we usually only cruise on Celebrity.

I agree that Silhouette is quite different from Allure, but I think you will have a fabulous cruise on her!

    Cheers. :)

  11. Not a big deal but just trying to find out how you would go about getting some of the MGM "perks" listed on the email we received, like presale ticket access to concerts, and access to "exclusive/personalized offers". On our Mlife account we have personalized offers but they are for the Sapphire level that we had with MGM not the new Platinum level we got being Diamond Plus with Royal.

Unless you have a casino host for presale ticket access to concerts call the casino hotel box office for that show and give the agent your M-Life number to get that perk.

Offers will come to you just like they always have since you are already M-life, some in email, some in snail mail and sometimes online when you actually get lucky enough to have the M-Life website working.

As far as offers like comps, free play, F&B credit you will only get those at whatever your gambling level is with M-Life not your tier level of pearl, gold or platinum and that's actually the way it is usually for those of us who gambled up to our level. For example someone who is new to M-life but gambled a lot on their 1st trip or 2nd, could received better offers then someone who is Platinum or even NOIR who either got the points more slowly by taking many trips to Vegas or being a local who goes on a regular basis, or someone at Platinum or NOIR stopped playing their usual level and low rolled instead on their trips.

  12. If I had not cancelled one of my Vegas trips last year I would be NOIR as well -- during that window of time when "all it took" was 1M TC's! Now, as I understand it, it's back to "invitation only". That limits it to higher level players to be sure ($500+/hand), or people who can put in a few weeks worth of time in Vegas each year.

    Tom

Yes, I'm sorry to see it go back to invitation only as most of my play is actually done at Venetian/Palazzo or Wynn, so I'm sure I'll be Platinum level come October 1st with M-Life, regardless of how many points I have. Still if you are platinum you get a 5 day cruise, ocean view stateroom for free (have to pay taxes and gratuities). These days I consider that one of the better M-Life Platinum perks.

  13. wow..so i guess on the reverse side...what as being a current mlife member get me on the ship extra? I have seen people talking about freebies and coupons but where are they getting these? we don't have an mgm property close to us

A mailer has been sent out to M-Life members letting them know about the partnership and what their level gets them with RCCL. If you haven't received one yet, it should hopefully be in the mail to you soon.

Levels above Platinum with M-Life do not get that much so I'm not going to list those perks here.

Platinum level gets a free 3, 4 or 5 day cruise on select RCCL ships. 10 drink vouchers for use in the casino, priority wait list, onboard departure access, one free specialty restaurant, onboard entertainment tour, and welcome amenity.

NOIR gets one free 7 day Caribbean cruise with balcony cabin, 15 drink vouchers for use in the casino, and the perks that Platinum level gets, along with 60 free minutes of Internet usage.

Since I'm currently NOIR level with M-Life I'm happy with the new partnership. :)

  14. As a Harrahs Diamond member, we have a complimentary lounge in the evenings that serve drinks and appetizers....Does M Life offer anything

like that to its Platinum members?

There are VIP lounges at each major MGM resort casino strip property but with the exception of Aria and Bellagio they don't usually have any snacks, or liquor, instead they offer soft drinks, water, coffee, tea and a faster check in and check out area. VIP lounges are not automatically open to any card level except NOIR, usually your offer from the casino will let you know if you have access though if you know where they are located you usually can just walk in and take a water, coffee or soft drink.
