  1. I have carried all my luggage on when sailing with Carnival since we had Faster To The Fun and the room is guaranteed ready when you board. It was nice unpacking everything and strolling out to lunch around 12 with everything already done. No luggage anxiety either and checking hallways for hours. I do generally check bags with the porters but it worked out nicely that time.

If would make sense in the faster to the fun to do it that way. On my next cruise in a few weeks I’m going to see if I notice anyone doing the full carry on.

  2. I was scrolling through threads when I read that someone was asking where they store your luggage on the first day when you carry everything on, not just your day bag. I have been on many cruises and I have NEVER heard of this. The person commented like they had done it before multiple times, maybe on a cruise line I have not been on. Anyone ever do this? And honestly I'm not even sure I'd want to do this. Sounds like you'd still have to check it somewhere and then go and retrieve it once your room is ready. I just pack my carry on with everything I need for that day and evening just in case.

Loved the art in City Hall/Center for the Arts. Free to go to, upstairs. You can make a donation, buy pieces from the show, and there's a giftshop with affordable jewelry and prints by local artists.

The last day of the cruise and there were actually chairs available!

Ok, that's everything! Let me know if you have any questions!

You should have started with a warning NOT to look right before your pathetic peanut butter and jelly sandwich and carrot stick lunch! The food looks amazing and now I can’t wait for my cruise! I had to laugh when I saw that you had the sugar free cake one night for dessert. Gotta watch some calories right?

  4. I know this is off topic, but Yinz are you from Western Pennsylvania? I live in east central Ohio and I hear people say Yinz or Youins.

    Thanks

YES! Originally from Pittsburgh and although there is much debate about pronunciation it is YINZ lol.;p

  5. I'm going to ask this here because anyone who is concerned about make up mirror will probably not respond with a snarky comment so I'm hearing that guests have had their flat irons taken from them when boarding. Not curling irons just the flat iron. I seriously couldn't make it a day without one. Have you had this experience or heard of it happening? Sorry it is off topic.

  6. Looking to cruise to Bermuda in July...is this a bad idea?

I love Bermuda in July but be aware that the last sailing of the month on the Escape will have its port days during the three day Bermuda holiday for the national cricket tournament. I've been there before during this holiday and there is definitely some closures and the busses and ferries run on holiday schedules. It is a big party for the Bermudians. So if you go just embrace in the cultural experience.

  7. They probably did not actually book a sailaway rate, but a guarantee. While almost all sailaways are guarantee, there are other instances where a cabin class is sold out or almost sold out where they will still price it but as a guarantee with promotions. For instance you may book a BD price but get assigned a BC or above cabin and get to choose promos. But if you booked BX you would not get the promos.

Thanks, I checked with them and it was the guarantee not the sail away . I just assumed since he didn't have the cabin number that it was a sail away. Note to self...never ASSUME anything.lol

  8. We are going with friends on the Escape this summer and they booked a sail away mini suite, still no cabin assignment, but they did get to choose two free at sea options. They took the free drinks and three specialty dinners. Now it is possible that they just happened to book during a special promotion OR that he upgraded during the booking process since he booked directly through NCL. Anyway, after reading through this thread I told him to double check his reservation because now I'm not so sure...

  9. My husband and I are sailing Concierge on Disney Fantasy April 21st. Any special perks we need to know about? Daughter, son-in-law and two grand babies (boy 5, girl 1 1/2) are sailing as well, but not Concierge. Also look for fun things not to be missed with them.....thanks in advance!!!

My husband and I took our teenage daughter the concierge route last year and planning again for 2019. You can have visitors in your room but they cannot use the lounge or the sun deck. I think you will enjoy the quiet atmosphere as a way to get away from the craziness of the rest of the ship and you WILL need a break. The lounge has a nice continental breakfast, again a way to avoid the morning buffet, the muesli is amazing! At lunch they also serve small bites and again at happy hour. If you love champagne they will bring it, along with most any other cocktail included in your fare. Enjoy the sun deck for your peace and quiet, it was empty for most of our cruise, then meet the kiddos for all the pool fun and the evening shows after dinner! We were on the Dream not the Fantasy but I believe almost identical.

  10. We just booked the March 25 Getaway Haven on March 11 and have had zero contact from concierge. We were too late to book most excursions, shows and dining. We are hoping the concierge can help us once we board. Ship is sold out so this will be interesting

No worries! I'm sure the concierge will help you once you are there. We stayed in the Haven on the Breakaway and <hint hint> the Haven dining room was much better than any of the upcharge restaurants and my kids loved the bread that was served in the Italian place and my husband just happened to mention that to the butler so every afternoon there was a loaf with butter waiting for them at snack time. So just enjoy being pampered!!
