  1. We loved staying at the Moore, one night before and 2 nights after. 2 block walk to Pike Market and not too far of a walk to Westlake center. I'd also recommend using Uber to get around. Even at 4:30 am it only took 3 minutes to get a car to Seatac.

  2. I finally got a chance to submit a price drop form for a Miracle cruise in Sept. but after filling it out the submit button doesn't work. I've tried it on Firefox and Explorer browsers so I'm pretty sure it's not me. I've sent an email but I hope I don't have to spend an hour on the phone.

  3. We stayed at Pacific Inn for a Carnival cruise. It was clean and the staff was friendly. They let us park there during the cruise and gave us a ride to and from the port, took about 20 minutes. There were several restaurants across the street and several more on the main drag to the beach. Reminded me of a smaller version of Carmel. Price was reasonable unlike the big chains in LB.

  4. I just returned last week from an Alaska cruise and stayed at the Moore Hotel one night before and two nights after. The Moore is a historic hotel from 1907 or so located at 2nd and Virginia. 2 blocks to Pike Market. No air conditioning but the windows open and in Seattle you don't need it. Took the light rail to get there but wouldn't recommend it because Seattle's sidewalks aren't in the best shape to roll luggage on but only cost $2.25. We had a regular room with queen and a twin and a bath with a clawfoot tub the night before for $120 including tax. We had a suite for the 2 nights after which had a living room area and microwave and refrig for $150 a night. I used UberX to get to the pier and back to the airport. Highly recommend this. Cars would pick up within 3 minutes of a call even at 4:45am. Cost to the pier was $12 on UberX and when we came back on Yellow cab it was over $20. You have to set up the Uber app on your smart phone ahead of time but it will automatically charge the fare and you just need cash for tip.

  5. We stayed at the Pacific Inn in Seal Beach and enjoyed our stay. Clean rooms and friendly staff. They have a free shuttle van which takes you to the port in about 15 minutes. We left our car there as part of a cruise, park, stay package. Seal beach is a nice walkable area with shopping, restaurants, and bars on a street which ends at the beach. There are also several restaurants across the street from the Inn in a mini mall. San Pedro has too much concrete for my tastes.

  6. Used on freedom nov 16 with JetBlue. It was wonderful not lugging luggage around. Luggage express was zone 4 disembark. We waited in the theater because it had the most comfortable seats and we weren't in a hurry. You will be issued boarding passes so at the airport go straight thru TSA to the gate.

    Have a great cruise.

  7. Luggage Express worked like a champ off carnival freedom at port Everglades. We had FTTF so we got zone 1 disembark but the luggage express got zone 4. Got a cab to hilton marina but rain put a damper on our idea to use water taxi for an informal tour. Went up the street to Bimini boatyard restaurant. Had a wonderful lunch there and spent the afternoon in their bar. Very friendly people and good atmosphere. They called us a cab to go to FLL. Arrived at SFO and luggage was the first off the plane. Really worth the $20/bag to not have to deal with luggage thru customs and thru the airport.

  8. I have bought this for our late December Cruise on the Magic and have some questions on how it works?

    • Do you bring it?
    • How do they know you have it?
    • On embarkation do you just go to the (which line) ??
    • Is your luggage tag marked? As when you check it on the dock how is it set up to deliver fast?
    • Is your room made ready sooner automatically?
    • I understand how it works at ports but what about wnen you are getting off at the disembarkation final port?

It will show up on your boarding pass for all in the room. At Port Everglades the luggage was marked with orange tags. When we entered they checked boarding passes and directed us to the right line and noted our cabin number. At disembarkation FTTF were given zone 1 luggage tags.

  9. Off Freedom last week with FTTF. Got to wait for an hour or so in priority waiting room and was among the first 500 to get on ship. Room was available on boarding and luggage arrived between 1-2pm. Went to Guest Services 3 times and in each case if I would have stood in the regular line I would have been serviced first. After this kind of service we didn't bother with priority tenders but went direct and walked right on, no waiting. Debarkation we were in no hurry but used luggage express which I found to be much more valuable than FTTF. Next year I have no plan for FTTF and will use that $50 for better wine at dinner.

  10. I found the steakhouse upscale over the MDR but the service was a little strange. We went first night at 6:30 and there were about 6 tables occupied, there were about 5 servers. When they weren't actively serving they stood in a line near the bar area and stared at the patrons, a little creepy. The portion sizes were mostly huge but I ordered the mashed potato side and got about 2 tablespoons of potato, steaks you get to see ahead of time so you know how big they are. Cheesecake was sized for 4 but didn't have the traditional consistency more like the made with jello kind. Liked the free wine but felt the staff was doing on the job training.

  11. I was told that luggage express is a service available on certain ships and airlines which you basically check-in for your flight on board and when you leave your bags outside the night before disembarkation you don't see them again until your plane lands. I searched for "luggage express" and your airline to read about it. My flight is on JetBlue which was a participant. I'll report back later in November has to how well it worked.

  12. We stayed at the Pacific Inn in Seal Beach. Nice place with easy walk to their main street lots of shops and restaurants and beach. We were allowed to park our car there while on the cruise no charge. The have a shuttle van and will drop you off at the cruise port. Took about 15 minutes. Breakfast was included. I thought Long Beach looked a little too much concrete jungle for my taste. The staff is very friendly.
