  1. My husband and I LOVE the Spa balcony. We had one on the Dream and we just booked one on the Magic. We've sailed the Magic before, so we are excited to get the Spa balcony on her!

The really cool thing is that today, there was a price drop that was the equivalent to the increase in price to us going from a regular balcony to a spa balcony! So....we essentially got the spa balcony upgrade for free!! :) I love Early Saver!

If you have the chance to get a spa balcony, I would definitely recommend it!!

  2. For my birthday, I just got the LCD touchscreen for my GoPro. I am so excited to start using it! The touch screen doesn't work under water, but you come up, touch it and go back down. I love that I can see what I'm filming! That was the only thing I didn't really like about my video from my first cruise. I was new to my GoPro. I also have the head strap, so on the Magic, I put it on and did the sky course. That was fun to take video of.

    Your video was great!

  3. My suggestion is to keep checking the site. Mine was sold out too...for months. But, someone on here had suggested to keep checking the site. I was diligent and checked daily to find great news one day when some FTTF showed up and I snagged one!

So, don't give up! Just keep checking the site! :) Good luck!!

  4. We loved the magic. Now, I'll say that we are early 40s and are quite laid back. Not too much bothers us. We loved everyone who worked on the ship...we enjoyed the shows and the food was excellent. It was our first cruise and we are hooked (sailing on the Dream in 3 months). The Magic also has the ropes course if you want that kind of fun. I'll say that I just laughed as I stood in line...40 year old and everyone ahead and behind me in ,ine was probably under 10....but it was one of those "I have to do this" kind of things.

On elegant nights, we saw lots of sparkly gowns and tuxedos....and some not quite as fancy. It is quite a mix as far as the crowd goes, but we truly had an amazing time. I bet you will love it!

  5. Taking advantage of the Now is The Time promotion, I snagged a cabin upgrade and we will have an ocean view balcony up on deck 9 on the dream. My question is...I've seen people making suggestions of things to take if you have a balcony. Seems that I remember something like a bungee cord or something but I'm hoping folks can chime in and give suggestions specifically for things that you might want to have if you have a balcony. Thanks in advance!

  6. I'm pulling up an older thread, but I'm trying to find out WHEN to redeem my points for my OBC. My cruise isn't until June and we will have quite a few points to redeem by then. How quickly do they show on the account. Do they show up in the carnival account? On my specific cruise? I'm trying to figure out the best way possible.

2nd question - What all can OBC be used for? Is it just like cash? I just want to be clear on exactly how that all works.

    THANKS!!!

  7. We have a while to wait and I thought the Dream had already moved to New Orleans, so I realize the the Fun Times will be different.

For future reference, you can just use your phone to take a picture of the pages if you want and just post them like you would post pictures, but don't worry about doing it for me.

We aren't going until June, so we will miss Bob it seems.

  8. You had James? On the Dream? A friend of ours just came off the Magic the same dates as you on the Dream and the cruise director there is James as well. Sister ships...what a coincidence? They went out of Galveston and had rough waters as well.

Questions - Hmm....what was your favorite show? How about evening deck parties? Which of those were your favorite? Our first cruise, we did a lot of stuff, but not as much as I had hoped we would. This time, we are going to try to do even more, so I just wondered if they had anything that you thought was so amazingly cool that no one should ever miss it!! :) Sorry that I don't have specific questions off hand!

  9. Please please please tell me you have copies or pictures of the fun times. I'm dying to see them!

I'd love to hear more about your cruise! We are heading out the Dream in June and I'm the type that starts getting excited the day we book and simply can't read enough or hear enough.

So, can you tell me about the cruise director, and shoot.....just everything! Please share more!

    Thanks!

  10. I get very motion sick in cars, trains, boats, etc and went on my first cruise this last summer. I got the patch and it worked great for me! We had one day where the seas were more rough, and I became queasy at best. Never had vomiting issues or any other issues. I hope all goes well for you and your wife!

  11. I've searched and can't seem to find a thread that answers my exact question.

If you purchase the Bottomless Bubbles program, can you get the non-alcoholic mixed drinks, such as a virgin Pina Colada, or other type drinks with no alcohol in them, or is that still a part of the Cheers program?

    Thanks for any help!

  12. In regards to the "Cruise Go Bag" posted above me, I love that idea because I've booked a year in advance and even just having a place where I put things that I ONLY use on the cruise just keeps me excited every time I see it.

I overpacked on our first cruise, but I don't regret it. Things that I think are MUST haves...I'm a tech geek, so a powerstrip for overnight charging. Extra memory cards so that you can just pop in a new card each day and not worry about having to dump the cards on a laptop each night.

The over the door shoe organizer thing....loved it!

A white board or something to write notes if you will not always be together throughout the day. Great way to ensure you meet up at a certain time or place with your spouse, kids or other family members.

I started to keep going, but I know that just about everything imaginable has already been mentioned in this thread, so......enjoy your cruise!!!!

  13. My family and I are headed to NOLA in June of 2014. I was planning to post a similar thread to this one.

So, it seems the Holiday Inn is the one posted so far that offers parking. I'm wondering if anyone has heard of any other places? We are willing to consider staying another night or two to enjoy NOLA after we get back from the cruise, but are just looking at our options, so if anyone else has info, it would be appreciated!!

We will be driving in from the Austin area. Cruised the Magic last summer and decided to try the Dream this coming summer. Can't wait. Loved the Magic!!

  14. I have an entire room in my home dedicated to my scrapbooking and music. I feel like I have an entire scrapbook store in my house. But, what I want to say is that over the past couple of years, I've started doing more DIGITAL scrapbooking. I'm planning to do digital books for our cruise coming up in 3 weeks (our first cruise).

So, I intend to take pictures of EVERYTHING that I might want to include in the scrapbook. The nice thing about digital is that you can crop images to include only the portion you want without spending any money on printing and such.

I know some prefer to do the real "hands on" scrapbooking. I do too. But digital is a great alternative!!

  15. Hello all! My husband and I are first time cruisers. We leave on the Magic in about 25 days. We've booked excursions in Roatan and Cozumel, but decided to leave the port in the middle (Belize) open to do "whatever".

Now, my questions is.....what "whatevers" are there to do? I was thinking it would be nice to do a little shopping and just hang out. We are hoping to maybe hear some music or something.

Any suggestions? What if we decided we wanted to swim. Is there a good beach that we can go to if we are not booked on an excursion? I really am a newbie at this and want to have the time of our lives.

    Thanks!!

    Twyla
