  1. We went to Freeport the end of last month and did this excursion as well. We booked directly through their website and the driver was waiting on us when we disembarked in Freeport. We waited about 10 minutes to gather everyone, boarded the bus, and headed for Paradise Cove. Our bus driver was very informative and friendly. He answered any questions we threw at him. Once at Paradise Cove, we had a short briefing about the reef balls, then went to get equipment. After gathering equipment, we proceeded to the tables and waited for everyone else to get to the tables. One of the employees gave another quick briefing on the safety of sea life and just general information about the area. After that 5-10 minute meeting, we were released to go wherever we wanted. We swam out past the rocks (amazing!) and swam around them for a while, then over to the reef balls where we encountered hundreds of fish and sea life.

We had a snack from the grill and a couple buckets of beer. The beer was reasonably priced (about $20-25 for 6) and the food wasn't too bad either.

They were very prompt on getting everyone back to shore and ready to head back to the port. We would definitely come back to Paradise Cove for another visit.

  2. I hate that Pat & Diane had to suspend some snorkeling trips due to the damage. I have been following their FB page, and they are opening tours for specific dates when they have a large (20+) party book the excursion.

We are planning to go to Deadman's Reef in June also.

  3. I got tired of waiting on Verizon to post gift cards so I looked into the Allstate route. Turns out it was extremely easy and they have the $100 cards available. I was able to grab 5 (the daily limit) of them.

Download Drivewise. Set up an account.

Go to https://www.allstaterewards.com/mobile/svc?t=showhomepage and log in. That'll land you 5,000 points. At the top right corner of that screen, you'll see three dots (brings up a menu) at the bottom, it'll say "Enter promo" click that and enter "partywithus2". You'll now have 7,000 points.

  4. How do you sign up. "Get A Quote"?????

From the small amount of research I was able to do last night, it seems the easiest way would be to download the Allstate Drivewise app on your smart phone and sign up there.

Others who have actually went the Allstate route and got their gift card may be able to provide more info. I'm just really reluctant due to the risk of Allstate agents calling all day long.

  5. As a hint, you don't need allstate insurance. I don't have it. I signed up for the program and get 15,000 points. With those you are able to get $1500 in gift cards at 10% off.

I've considered going the Allstate route for the gift cards. I do not have insurance with Allstate either. When you signed up, did a bunch of agents call and try to sell you insurance? (the only reason I haven't already went the Allstate route).

  6. We are booked for dead man's reef (paradise cove) in a couple of weeks, the reviews sound great! We booked directly through the website.

We did snorkeling through Blue hole watersports a year or two ago and had a great time. It is a short walk from the port on the beach at the Hilton and the boats are small...it was just the 4 of us. He took us to a place out off of an island and we snorkeled there for a good 30 minutes and then went to a beautiful coral reef. It was just us and we spent at least 45 minutes snorkeling. We then went around Atlantis and got some nice pictures. My MIL stayed on the boat and still had a great time. I want to say we paid around $65 a person? My son was 6 at the time and had a blast.

Let us know how your experience with Dead Man's Reef goes. Seriously considering them for our June cruise.

  7. I can recommend Deed Man's Reef/Paradise cove. There is a discussion on the board about them. Quickly--after Pat & Diane cancelled the day of our snorkeling trip, the driver recommend Paradise Cove. We paid $16 round trip transportation each, $3 entrance fee, $5 locker rental & brought our own gear. Had a fantastic time. The driver waited for us & took us back in plenty of time. You can also book on their website.

Thank you! I'll look into them.

  8. Yes, the same thing happened to me - I got an e-mail, although it was confusing, so I called them and spoke to Diane. She said two large hotels have still not reopened since the hurricane, and they get many of their customers from those two hotels, so they were stopping their tours temporarily. She was unclear about when they would be stopping the tours, but she did confirm that mine on Apr 10 was cancelled. She said they expect to be back up and running again, maybe around August. She did say they still offered some tours through the cruise ships (she mentioned Blue Hole and Crystal Bay, I think), but I couldn't find them. We ended up making alternate plans.

Thanks for the reply. I hate they decided to suspend tours. We were excited about checking them out from all the reviews on Trip Advisor. Mind if I ask, did you find elsewhere for snorkeling (assuming that's what you had planned with Pat & Diane)?
