Thank you Laura for a wonderful review. My husband and I are doing the PG cruise on May 26th and it will be our first time in FP. I am so excited to be going! Quick question about evening wear - is it acceptable to wear 3/4 length pants and a dress top? Or do you have to wear full length pants only?

Thanks so much for the information. That definitely helps as PG recommended getting $200 per person exchanged for Polynesian money. I will definitely wait and do shopping in Bora Bora and Moorea and if I need anything else I can come back to Papeete as we are spending a few days post cruise at the IC.

Hi all -

For those experienced travelers on PG, this will be my first cruise coming up on May 26th. Can anybody tell me how much money you would need in French Polynesian money? Are dollars accepted on most of the islands, or credit cards? Also, what do you recommend for souvenirs and where is the best place to look for pearls?
