We are doing the same route come end of July. Plus, we booked the San Juan Food Tour as well before. Hoping to hear more about that.

Condado is a great place to stay. The cab ride is at least half the cost you stated.
I have stayed at Marriott and Hilton in the area. Both are great and have plenty of local places to eat for all meals. SO many great places to walk to and all have unique charm to them.
Marriott puts you closer to casino if you need. Both have nice pools and beach access.
You can stay at DoubleTree to save money usually and they will shuttle you to the beach.

Is it just me or is this a bit expensive for a day at a pool and some drinks?
This looks wonderful!! And the reviews on the site are great too. Thank you so so much for sharing - this is now at the top of the list :) -
Miramar is ok except not near the good food and nightlife. Condado Hilton or Stellaris Marriott and Renaissance or even the Doubletree give you got spots. That Courtyard will always be cheaper if price is your only consideration.

Anyone on the Adventure of the Seas July 23?

I might be dumb but if you don't buy a package will you get any internet on your I phone? And how about phone calls and texts?
Not much cell signal while in the middle of the ocean. In port you can if your phone is set up for international coverage.

Any chance someone has pictures or know of current beer and cocktail prices on the ship?

Just did the Trikes last month....so much fun! I'm not a big beach person so this was definitely an awesome way to see the island. If you've got any questions about the Trikes...let me know!! :D
Which company did you do trike tour with?

Thank you for all of the great pictures and comments about your trip. We are on the Valor 10/13/13. A good friend who works frequently in San Juan also recommended the Hilton Caibe and that is where we have our reservations for the night before the cruise. We are departing the Sunday afternoon on return back to SJU. Here are the excursions I have planned:
St. Thomas: Magen's Bay
Barbados: Calabazza
St. Lucia: Cosol Tours
St. Kitts: Royston Tours
St. Maarten: Capt. Bob with Souliga Destinations
We have been to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, & San Juan before but have never been to the other 3 islands.
So 2 quick questions (for now, will probably have more later), did you ever go to the sports bar on ths ship, and if so how was it? Also, do you know of any good sports bars in San Juan around the hotel? Travelling in Oct. is right in the middle of college football season, and down South, that is like a religion to us. :D But we will be in San Juan one Sat. and at sea heading in on the 2nd Sat. Just currious.
Again, thanks for your pics and review and I continue to watch for more.
I just got off the Valor last week. Sports Bar was usually quiet. Daily at 5:30 the Sports Trivia was fun. Samantha is who led it ans she is a cutie from New York and has a great sense of humor. IT was neat by the end since the same folks showed up and we had friendly competition for the Ship on a Stick!
The bartender did say football season you see the sports bar far busier.
What's the craft beer situation like on Royal these days?
in Royal Caribbean International

Seems to me they are heavily in bed with AB and even some of the craft stuff they are adding in are AB based.
