  1. I was a die hard Celebrity supporter having taken 16 cruises between RCCL and Celebrity

I just took a Celebrity Land Tour # 3B on 5-14-18. Possibly the worst 1 week land tour I have ever taken. The people running the Tour did not handle the problems well and the Tour was a bust. The hotel choices are poor and could not handle the crowds. The Tour was virtually unguided and not worth the money. I raised the issue along with 70 other Tour participants. It fell on deaf ears at Celebrity and we received no compensation. I would have expected a future cruise voucher but nothing was forthcoming . That is partially why I am posting this so no one else get's suckered into this Tour. The ship is set for a $70MM renovation in Jan 2019. It is tired and old. There are better choices for Alaska than Celebrity. Although Alaska is beautiful and some of the ports were great. I would go with Princess out of Whittier before considering Celebrity with this ship and Tour. If you have already purchased the TOUR Cancel It Clearly not worth the money and self book

  2. Appears the CC community perceives me to be wrong. Also others have insinuated I am cheap. To set the record straight my gratuities are prepaid along w specialty dining for 6 for 4 nights Further I will be purchasing spa treatments. My excursions are prepaid and booked. Yes they are not through NCL. I have purchased the Beverage package on the majority of cruises I have been on. So cost is not the issue. IMHO it appears NCL charges for everything. Had I received a better value for my CC points I would have chosen a different cruise line Nevertheless NCL is comvenient to our schedule. That is why I chose NCL If you read other CC posts of the Breakaway there are questions about cleanliness food quality and service. These concerns I will experience for myself. However, I am taking this cruise with open eyes. Hopefully all of you are correct and my anxiety and concerns are overstated Nevertheless my first experience with Customer Service was less than satisfying.

  3. Ourcruise is slated for July 30th We are seasoned Cruiser's, having gone on15-16 cruises on Celebrity and RCCL. We found out pre-cruise that NCL does notinclude Bottled Water as part of the beverage package one can purchase. Pleasenote Celeb, RCCL, Princess all do. Instead NCL wants you to purchase bottledwater by the case at 300-500% above the market. My wife has an auto-immunedisease requiring her to be hydrated. We obtained a prescription and doctorsnote and sent an e-mail to the Access Desk requesting permission to bring up to3 cases of bottled water. Our request was denied. We then sent an e-mail to Mr.Del Rio explaining the situation along with the Doctors note and prescription.Again we were denied. NCL has completely lived up to it's reputation of nickeland diming along with Up Charging cruisers for every service. We knew ofthis reputation pre-booking but were stuck using NCL due to the points value ina conversion. I would recommend anyone reading this to take anothercruise line! NCL is focused only on it's profitability not thecruiser. This probably will be our first and last cruise on NCL all over a$50-100 potential charge. NCL you have made a smart business decisionPenny wise and Pound foolish Cruise Critic followers Be warned BookElsewhere- Better value on RCCL or Princess plus appears to be better quality

    Thankyou

  4. very annoyed at RCCL regarding roll-out of Dynamic Dining and Shows. I sent a letter to the CEO. In turn he gave the letter to someone in Executive Guest Relations. Spoke with the person who assured me everything would be handled. A week goes by no response from this person. Just called him again and found out that he has done nothing This lack of service will destroy this brand. This will be my 5th RCCL cruise and another 5 on Celebrity so I am not a NEWBIE. These guys need to get there act together. I imagine the first day on board will be a nightmare with hundreds of people lining up to make changes. Please don't tell me to be patient as this is a horrendous procedure. Cruises are supposed to be stress-free. RCCL has figured out a way to make it just the opposite. I urge everyone to call their executive offices 305-539-6000. Thats the only way they will change things

  5. RCCL has taken a formerly simple process and has TOTALLY DROPPED THE BALL> Whomever is their Chief Technology Officer needs to be fired. The dinner reservation system remains unfixed and not flexible. The Entertainment system reflects no late shows Therefore, there is no coordination with the dinner availability. Someone from RCCL needs to note all the problems and issues and determine a way to resolve them for the majority of Non Pre- Selected Cruisers. i urge everyone to reach out to RCCL and send them a message that this needs to be fixed now

  6. Suggest you go to RCCL main site Go to contact us. Send e-mail. The topic is existing reservation" Address your e-mail to Richard Fain CEO and Alan Goldberg President. They will never read your post However, the senior Customer Service people will and eventually RCCL will address this matter. Despite people's be patient, Dynamic Dining is a disaster that needs to be addressed now not in the future. The concept may make sense as two seatings was getting stale, however, the execution/roll-out has been a miserable failure for the clients of RCCL.

The more people take pro-active action the quicker RCCL will act. Hopefully, posts/threads similar to this will start the ball rolling

  7. This is a multi-billion dollar company. the software needs to be user friendly. The staff needs to be trained. The fact that RCCL has blocked tables between 7:00PM-830 PM for the Ship just will cause all sorts of problems. Extremely disappointed with the way they have handled this. Had they created a grid showing availability of all restaurants at a specific time instead of having to go in separately to each is Common Sense. The lack of disclosure as to the number of seats per venue, what is being held for the Ship etc would have been great. My concern is that there will be very little availability on-board for changes. Again their Chief Information Officer who designed this system needs to be hung from the Yard Arm. My guess activities and show availability will also be handled in a stupid manner. How can you plan dinner when you don't know what show times are etc. Again just plain dumb. If there were an alternative or if Celebrity sailed out of NY I would be done. Pure -madness

  8. RCCL has totally blown up any semblance of good customer service with the manner they have rolled out Dynamic Dining. I went on the web-site at 12:01 AM .it was not available. I went onto the website at 5 and at 730 AM and it was a disaster. I was not able to confirm reservations with the couple we were travelling with. I called the Central Customer Service # at 8AM After 2.5 hours there were not able to book my reservations and call me back. I called the Dynamic Dining Desk at 11:30 and finally got some service Several things you need to know. The free and specialty dining rooms have only offered a small amount of tables on-line in advance between 7PM and 8:30PM. In other words RCCL wants to keep these table for bookings on the SHIP No where do they tell this to you Also if you are on the website the Customer Service Rep cannot assist you. They are locked out. Also if you do not exit the website properly and just close it down when exiting the Customer Service Rep is blocked from seeing your reservation . No where on the website do they tell you how to exit the site properly. RCCL has totally poorly designed and rolled out this service. I suggest anyone trying Dynamic Dining call 877-812-3612 rather than deal with this system.

This is a nightmare and RCCL should be very ashamed of this embaressment:mad:
