  1. My husband and I are taking a 15 day Panama Canal Cruise on the Island Princess in November 2019. In your opinion, does it matter what evening to book an UBD? Would it be better to book it for an at sea day or for an evening that the ship has been in port all day and is sailing for the next destination in the late afternoon/early evening?

    Thanks!

  2. Thanks to all that have replied! It has helped a lot with our decision on which ship to choose. Have been wanting to do the full Panama for a long time. Been on Princess cruises before, and love them, but the choice of ships for the time we want to go on this cruise has been a difficult. Appreciate all the input.

  3. Thank you, RSF Cruiser. Your review was very helpful. Our number one priority is the cabin also. We have reserved a Premium suite, aft, on the Baja Deck. Good to hear that you enjoyed the Island Princess and the suite you were in. All the negative reviews of the Island have made me second guess our choice of ships. Thanks again!

  4. Thanks Twin. It has been nice reading how you and the others are doing and what you're experiencing so far down there, as we are on the next cruise after you. Hey, since you're experienced with PG and FP I have another question - the day we board, do you know if the PG has a secure area at the pier to store our larger luggage so that we might go into town after checking out of the IC? We would keep a bag with all our important docs, jewelry, meds, etc. with us.

    Thanks,

    Chris

  5. Does anyone know if Sept. is the rainy season?:( Been watching the weather forecast for Papeete and it doesn't look so great. Getting a little nervous as we're leaving on the Sept. 20 sailing. Oh well, nothing we can do about it now and still very excited to be going.

  6. Hoping to get some advice from the very knowledgeable people on this board. We're leaving on the Sept. 20th Tahiti cruise. We have visited before in the 90's and at that time purchased some very nice black pearl jewelry. I would like to bring these with me on this cruise.

My questions is, when you go through customs in LAX coming home, how do the custom agents know that you didn't purchase these items on this current trip? As it's been so long ago receipts, proof of purchase, etc. are long gone. Our cruise documents mention that you should register this type of item with US Customs prior to leaving the US. At this point, it seems a little late if this is something we should do. Have any of you found the need to do this?

Thanks in advance for your advice.
