  1. LOL. That's why I didn't comment on the desserts. I always got the cheese plate and took it back to the cabin to enjoy later. There were a couple of really nice cheeses included.

Do you happen to know what types of cheese are offered? We were there a few weeks ago and I should have asked our server to write them down. I know one is Roquefort (now love it!)

  2. Hi all!

DH and I are planning on booking our cruise on Carnival Pride for June 4th. We are Royal Caribbean cruisers but the Pride itinerary fit our schedule. This will be our first time with Carnival and we are celebrating our first year wedding anniversary (we also were married on Royal Caribbean). We don't want to spend our normal price range and want to book a guaranteed balcony. We know that will be the minimum category room we will get. However, I am a little apprehensive about this because of the obstructed view balconies. For those of you who have booked a BL room, have you ever been place in an obstructed view room? We don't care if we are aft, bow, port or stern and even what deck. We just want a balcony with a view that's out and down :). Thank you!!

  3. Are you coming down from Rhode Island? That's a long way to drive during rush hour on a Friday morning for a surprise. The ship should actually arrive between 6 and 7 am. Passengers could start self disembarking by 7:30.

Do you have the cars only directions through New York City?

Will be flying down. Brother and friend drove down so I will drive back with them. Thank you for the advice!

  4. Hi all!

We leave for our wedding cruise on AOS Friday! We dock in Saint Lucia and would love to go to Roseau Bay. Has anyone gone there or know how to get there? I have seen kayak tours but we just want to go to the beach and lay there. Not have a guided 4 hour kayak tour and not get to go on the beach. TYIA!!!!!

This the the Darkwood beach one. Read the reviews and you'll find the details about the bus stop.

I was unable to find the stand up paddleboard private tour. I'm thinking the kid went back to the US since we did it in 2013.

I'll have my wife look up the catamaran sea turtle excursion name when she gets home from work.

thank you so much! Darkwood beach sounds like it will be a plan!

  6. Hi all!!!

The family and I are leaving in a few week to the SC. The islands are:

    St Maarten

    St Kitts

    Antigua

    St Lucia

    Barbados

As of now in St Maarten we just want to go to Princess Juliana International Airport to watch the planes and hang out on the beach all day. RCCL doesn't have an excursion for that. I know we are able to plan/book excursions not through RCCL but don't really know how to go about it. I'm thinking for St Maarten we could just hail a taxi...I'm assuming they are at the pier? For the other islands, any suggestions on what to do and the best excursions you have been on? TIA!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Hi all!!

We've cruised before and know the abundance of food that is available. BUT, since AOS has had a make over, we are just wondering what food is offered in the Promenade. ESPECIALLY pizza lol. We are from RI and there is literally a pizza place every couple of blocks. We have been on FOS and were very spoiled by Sorrento's. So basically just wondering if there is pizza available in the Promenade? Thank you!!!

  8. Awful! How difficult is it really?!? is Royal Romance getting your licenses for you? And how does that all work, as in what would we need? I've been trying to read up on everything, but it's a bit confusing to me.

    Hello,

We are getting married on Explorer in 79 days! It has been stressful at times dealing with Royal Romance and nothing happened until I emailed Richard Fain to get things moving and basically explained they were ruining our big day before it had started!

I will let you know if we find any tricks, the biggest thing is to budget for your Affidavits and Apostille stamps. Cost us 300 in the UK.

Any help we can give let me know.

  9. thank you for all the info! Thats very good to know about not hearing deck 11 above. Yes, RC now has Royal Romance. Everything is done for us including the marriage license, for an extra charge. We also can't plan for the wedding until it is all paid for in advance . No big deal, we have the $ but we want to make sure of everything before we book and have no regrets. We want to get married on our anniversary date. That just so

happens to be the Friday we sail back to PR, so we will be having an on-board wedding. I have looked over the RC wedding website too a bit. I guess I should planned to be stressed all through the booking

We were just on AOS in Feb/March in a GS. It was our first GS and now it will be hard to go back to a balcony, altho are next 2 cruises are in a OS and GS.... I will post a few pics :) Having access to the CL is a nice perk and RC is suppose to the updating the suite perks soon (impatiently waiting!!)

Even with the port intensive cruise, we found plenty of time to enjoy the suite! As far as noise, we didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. Thankfully we didn't hear the people next to us either :D:D

As for the weddings... We got married on IndyOTS 6 years ago. My understanding is Royal Romance no longer sub-contracts their weddings out to TWE (The Wedding Experience), which is a good thing!! If the do still sub-contract out to TWE, they have changed the way they do business, which again is a good thing!!

There is a lot of advice and helpful information on the Honeymoon & Weddings board. The tread What I wish I had known before the big day - advice from past brides I think is a great place to start.

If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them for you, but as I said I think they have changes hands since we were married.

There are a lot of differences between the 1st day, at sea weddings and port weddings. Have you started the wedding plans yet?

  10. Hi All and thank you for taking the time to read this! We are getting married next June on the AOS and leaving from PR. We have cruised before and will only do a balcony. We can't decide if we should go for the Junior Suite or splurge a little bc it is our wedding/honeymoon and go with a Grand suite. Does anyone have any recommendations or pictures they could offer? I know, why splurge and get the GS bc we won't be in our room that often bc of all the ports we visit...thats a con on our list why NOT to get the GS. But it is an amazing room and it is our HONEYMOON lol. I noticed the GS is only on deck 10, is there a lot of commotion going on above and we'll hear everything? Also, I know Royal will do everything for us, but has anyone been to a wedding on a cruise or has been on a ship and witnessed some of the wedding? Just trying to get all the info we can. Once again, thank you with all of your help!

  11. Hello All!!

thank you for taking the time to read my post. i have spent a while trying to find any info i can, with no luck. we are going on the nav of the seas for our honeymoon in november 2015. im assuming bc it is newly renovated, thats why there are not many pictures of the rooms. anyway, i am so picky about the bed placement in my room. i hate when you walk in and bam, there is the bed then the couch. we will be staying in a balcony. not sure what deck but category D2/E1/E2/E3 depending on what info we can get. i know that we will be on port side though. my question is, does anyone have any pictures or info on the bed placements? we will be on deck 7/8/9. i would just like the bed next to the balcony door lol. thank you!!
