I always wanted to try a solo cruise but then I chicken out. I thought as a three or four day would be the way to go to try it.

Unfortunately I don't have pictures but we were a group of four, we had a private palapa with four chairs. I believe there was a bed too. What kind of shade do they have there? We are going in February on this cruise and thought we might go here. There doesn't seem to be any consistency on the pictures on the site. What is the privacy like for your group?Sent from my Pixel using Forums mobile app

Costa Maya , booked online Maya Chan Beach resort. All-inclusive great service and limited people. Great food and drinks. Grand Cayman is over priced and wall to wall people. Beach is beautiful but crowded.

We are going to Maya Chan again. Went there 2 years ago and had a great time. Good drinks and food. Our second port is Costa Maya, and we have booked a beach day with Maya Chan.Maya Chan is a limited access all inclusive beach day, where each party is assigned a palapa or pergola.
This excursion and day is what I am looking forward to the most.

We're cruising Jan 28 on FOS. I check daily and haven't seen any sales on the Deluxe package

i booked in FEB for december and drinks was one thing that was available right away. 46 bucks and internet was 11.99
just a day or 2 ago internet is 14.39 and today they have booze plus internet for 54 i think
you literally have to check every thing every day to see if there are deals.
also ive read you can cancel and re purchase the packages if you get a price decrease. so id say lock in now. the internet has gone up for me since i waited
I don't necessarily want to purchase but want to keep an eye on the prices but the only thing I can monitor is the excursions. I was supposed to go on a cruise last February and purchased the drink package when it went on sale then there was another special at a better price so I cancelled the first and rebooked the better package. I booked that cruise over a year in advance of the sail date and could see all the prices for everything on the Cruise Planner.

We are sailing on Jan 28,2018 on FOS. When we try to look and the beverage or food packages it tells us "not available purchase onboard". We can look and book the excursions. Anyone else having that problem.

All the things we miss , I don't miss the prices. My first cruise in the early eighties cost us over$1000 EACH for 3 in an inside cabin. I gladly give up some of the extras for the lower prices.

I am sailing 2-26-18 on the FOS and just found out that this is a "Cruising with the King" trip. Has anyone been on a cruise when this group was there? Did it affect you in any way? What venues were off limits to the general public? When I googled it, it showed that RCCL does this a couple times a year.

Looking forward to your review. I am going on the same 6 day Feb 26th. We are also going to Maya Chan. We don't have any plans for Grand Cayman or Cozumel.

I remember when I golfed off the back of the ship. They put a strap around your waist connected to a rope so you didn't fall off the ship. They put the railing down and you got to drive a few balls off the ship. No extra charge.

Thank you for the review. In 100 days (but who's counting) I will be on the 6 day sailing. Can't wait. As for the food issues...I'm not cooking so I am sure I won't starve. Thanks.

We didn't spend all that much time at our "assigned" spot. We were in the water (floating with a drink, swimming, kayaking, etc), sitting at the bar talking with Mark and David, eating, hanging with new friends. I'd take the umbrella and not worry about it. You will have a great time. Don't forget to use their computers to send messages back home and check your e-mail. By the way, the food and drink at MC are fantastic!
I agree. We were just there and it was the highlight of the trip. Great food and drinks. Try the mango daiquiers. They were the best!
