    After 8 days, I finally received a form letter today w/ the "no compensation/can't control hurricanes" pat language. Typical BS that showed they didn't actually read my letter, since that was about 1 line in my whole letter. Sigh...guess I'll be looking for other options in future years. The good thing is that there are lots of options, especially off the East Coast in a drivable distance, and it's been years since I've been on them (and I've never done NCL, so that might provide some originality)...

     

    Hope others were more successful in receiving answers and/or what they sought...

    Harvey Remnants

    What was once Tropical Storm Harvey is now expected to have a second wind later this week in the Bay of Campeche and southwest Gulf of Mexico, bringing a threat of heavy rain and gusty winds to eastern Mexico and parts of south Texas.

    Hostile winds aloft shredded Harvey's circulation Saturday over the Caribbean Sea, and the National Hurricane Center issued its final advisory.

    What is left of Harvey is a cluster of disorganized showers and thunderstorms from the Yucatan Peninsula to Belize and Guatemala.

    A hurricane hunter aircraft investigated the remnants of Harvey Sunday afternoon and found that the system hadn't regenerated into a tropical depression or tropical storm because it lacked a well-defined center of circulation, and there was also no indication of tropical-storm-force winds. This was still the case on Monday, according to satellite imagery and surface observations.

    Verizon Gift Cards

    Ok not been on here in a couple of weeks, so please don't bash me to awfully hard if this has been discussed. Verizon is doing away with the rewards program they have now as of November 1, 2017. Looks like they won't be selling the Carnival Gift Cards any longer. You can purchase CCL gift cards now, but only 2 of each denomination at one time. Maximum of $1200 a day, 24 hour period. We purchased the max yesterday at 4:45, purchased max again today at 5:00. Plan on doing several more times before it's no longer available. Going to hate this when they're no longer available. [emoji20]

    Soooooooooooooo looking forward to my cruise, it cant get here fast enough!!

     

    anyway, what are some of the bottles that are a Must Purchase for you? What have you found were the best deals? My ports are Amber Cove, St Thomas, Grand Turk and San juan.

     

    I think I read somewhere that you are allowed one liter per port, but are allowed additional bottles on one of these but I cant remember what's what.

    St. Thomas, 5 cartons, 6 bottles, 1,600.00 duty free.

    CC meet and mingle

    Last week on the Valor it was at 6:00 PM first sea day. They had some juice,coffee and Danish we had CD Cassie, Eric her assistant CD, the HD and I officer we had 4 show up. I talked with Cassie and she said the first week they try it at 5:00. So I told her between 1:00 & 4:00 the first Sea day might be a good time.
