  1. They don't appear to have updated the levels online yet (at least mine hasn't anyway), so that probably doesn't indicate anything.

Having said that, I also havent got an email either, so perhaps they just haven't done them all.

I would expect the website to change on the 3rd, as you would still be based on the old tiers if you were boarding in the next few days.

However, it is very clear that your current status is protected. It says so on the program details and has been confirmed elsewhere. There is even a Facebook post around where they specifically say that the emails were incorrect if they show a decreased level.

Thank you. I don't have Facebook(such a sin I know lol), so I can't follow their posts. But thank you for the update. I actually already got another email stating that my tier would be protected.

  2. I'm not a high roller like you all, but I am still proud of my cruises taken. The email they sent showed me at a lower level than I am. But, when I logged on it showed my correct level. I talked to someone from NCL and he assured me I will keep my same level even though I'm now technically two points away.

  3. I was on the breakaway. But I believe (I could be mistaken) that they did a different theme on the two cruises. Maybe it was because they were a year apart and to two different destinations. I wasn't sure if they switch it up at all. I'll try to ask a reviewer of a recent sailing. Thank you.

  4. Does anyone know where to look up or research the scheduled "special event nights" onboard a cruise? This is my third time (this April) on the Breakaway and I feel other people got the scoop prior to boarding. I'm talking in particular about themed nights like: 80's,90's, white party, neon and other themes. My friend and I enjoy dressing up for stuff like that for pictures and acting way younger than we are ;-) we want to make sure we pack the right "outfits".

  5. I could be wrong, I just got off the breakaway, but I believe they do NOT sell them. My guess is because they are the transit company's ticket. Everybody was lined up at the information/visitor center booth soon as we got off the ship. The lines were a madhouse The first day. Especially because our first day the dawn was in our place and we had to use tender.

  6. It may seem really mean, but I was one of the people in the Studios who kept closing the door and making sure it locked. I ALWAYS made sure it was open during the meeting time, but the other times of the day I closed it. I did so because once people on our floor found out there was free cookies and coffee in the lounge, kids and adults raided it two days in a row. I even walked in the one day and a group of Kids were all playing tag on the two levels. I'm fine with kids, but I booked a studio on purpose to have an exclusive area. Just sayin.

  7. I have done both walks and, this being Bermuda which is an incredibly beautiful island, there are great picture opportunities

If I decided to do the railway trail in two days but stay out there, could I bring my hammock and sleep under the stars? Is that 1.legal? 2.plausible? And 3.safe?

  8. I was also trying to look up a hiking route around most of the island and sleeping under the stars. I have another thread and some people have tips on that idea.

I am going to get the transit pass for sure. I haven't considered a tour, but maybe it's a good idea.

  9. Exploring solo in Bermuda is a breeze!

I'm taking my 4th solo cruise to Bermuda in May and I've "winged" it every time except for scuba diving on the first cruise. On my last cruise in October I booked a shore excursion to the beach and it was cancelled due to bad weather. I get the bus/ferry pass which is reasonable and very efficient. I've been to the St. George's several times, the Swizzle Inn, the Aquarium and Bermuda Underwater Explorer's Institute (BUEI), explored the Royal Naval Dockyards and museum and downtown Hamilton. The locals and very friendly and if you tell the bus driver where you want to go, they will make sure they let you know the right stop.

There are free walking tours in the morning at the Dockyards and also in St. George on some days and I enjoyed those very much. Taken both a couple of times and always learn something different.

Since you like to hike, check out the Bermuda Railway Trail, it's about 20 miles long. I would love to do that but don't think it's a good idea for a single woman to hike that distance alone.

The only thing I haven't done is gone to a pink sand beach and I'm hoping to do that this trip. If your ship is at the Dockyard there is a shuttle bus to get to the beaches instead of having to pay for a cab all by yourself. I'm on HAL which docks in downtown Hamilton so I'll explore taking the buses to a beach so I can cross that off of my list.

    Have fun!

I'm going on the Breakaway in May. Thank you for the idea. Everyone on CC seems to say the bus pass is worth it.

  10. I'm taking my third solo cruise next month. I'm hooked. My first time was on Carnival and I specifically asked the m'atre d about who I would be sitting with. He assured me I would be with other solo people, but when dinner rolled around, it was three families. I was ok, but it would have been better if they actually put me with people looking to socialize more.

  11. I was wondering if anyone has experience with a solo cruise to Bermuda. I will be there for three days in May. It seems "winging it" isn't the best of ideas in Bermuda (as per a lot of threads). I was looking for some tips or ideas for my stay in the island. I am into backpacking, so long walks are fine by me. I can swim/snorkel/dive. I have no physical limitations. I also thoroughly enjoy photography.

Thanks in advance to any responders.

  12. Has anyone ever hiked Bermuda? Actually gone around the whole island I mean. If so, how long did it take you? My research keeps coming up with different distances up to 20someodd miles.

  13. I am hooked on solo cruising. This May will be my third. But, I've also backpacked solo and went on a rock climbing trip with people I've never met. I dig it.

Just as others have mentioned, I went on a vegas trip with two other guys I served in the military with and we had trouble seeing eye to eye. One guy would be drunk, the other lazy. I wanted to go to a nice Vegas buffet and neither wanted to. It was annoying. But on my solo cruises, it was great to make my own schedule.

  14.

Or how about your fellow solo travelers in the lounge during the hosted meetup say "Nyc2theworld is a better cruise director than XXXXXX"

    Fun times.

Yes lol. That would count. I hope they said "Nyc2theworld" too and not your birth name. That would make the cake icing so much sweeter.

  15. This is a thread for all the studio cabin stayers. This is a place to share your funniest, weirdest or most awkward interaction in the lounge. Since not everyone closes the door to the lounge, I have personally seen some weird stuff happen. Especially when people see free cookies.

  16. In Bermuda we do not have mountains, etc for people to climb so you will not find people out doing such. You will find people climbing the rocks at the beaches, etc and jumping off into the water but there isn't any such business that do this.

Thank you. I know it's not a mountain kinda area but I have seen a few videos of deep water soloing. Wasn't sure if that's something anyone knew more about.

  17. http://www.cruisewithgambee.com/norwegian-drink-lists/

Best link. If you are a penny pusher, do the math. You'd need to drink a lot. For me, I really only drink bottled beer. Those are $5.50 in the aluminum bottles. That's about ten a day to hit the price per day. So that would mean two by the pool, two at dinner and six at night (roughly). If I'm really in the mood to put them back, then it's a great idea. But you also have to account that I'll be on the island not getting my "free" drinks. It's not like stirrup cay. So I would have to cram my ten drinks in if I went back to the ship. Last year on my Bahamas trip on breakaway, my total bill at the end was about $370. That's was just for me. No packages. No excursions. I ate at four specialty restaurants and had some drinks each night. So last year, I would have burned money.

It depends on each persons plan while on board.
