  1. Hi!  Does anyone know if the Feral Cat Project is still going on in San Juan?  Are the cats still prominent in the area?  It's been several years since I have been to St. Juan so I wondered how the cats survived the hurricanes that have gone through that area.

    Thanks!

This is something I would like to hear more about.

Our muster station was B4 which is in the center of the casino.  It was FULL of smokers and because the ship had not started sailing yet, the ventilation system was not in full-force so it was completely unbearable for a lot of people who either had children with them or had medical conditions in which they could not tolerate cigarette smoke. (Just walking through the casino even while the ventilation system was on was overwhelming.) We talked to one of the crew who was assigned to that area for the muster and she told us (and others) that we could sit in a little alcove right outside of the casino, but if there was a real emergency, we would have to report inside the casino. There were so many people outside of the casino that there was not enough seating in that alcove and people were blocking the atrium walkways.  There is not a way to walk around the casino, so there was no other place to sit/stand away from the smoke except in the atrium walkway.  :classic_angry:

  3. Sounds like just what I need! May I ask, is this a template you created for yourself,or is it a standard Word template? If the latter, what is it called?

    Thanks!

I do the same thing and basically just open a blank word document and copy/paste the cruise itinerary, my booking info, and then our plans for each island, as well as any tips I find on the internet in regards to the ship, drinks, shows not to miss, etc. I print it out and take it along with the hotel reservation or flight info and boarding passes in a clear document holder. While I'm on the cruise, I save the daily Fun Times in that clear holder to take home as a souvenir, so by the end of the cruise I have a full document holder and all the info is in one place and easy to save once I get home.

  4. We looked at Pelican Tours, but they don't run on Thursdays and that is the day we're in port. We've booked the full day tour with ABC Jeep Tours. As others have said, regular vehicles can't go to all locations, hence the preponderance of trike, jeep or ATV tours. We're going next month, so I can't provide a first hand review yet, but the reviews on Trip Advisor were very good. We wanted to see as much of the island as possible as well. I hope we made the right choice!!

Printingchick, please update us when you get back. I am going in October but understand things tend to sell out quickly, so want to make some decisions soon.

  5. Thanks Melli, we have a cruise scheduled already for February,May and October 2015. I have no idea how we are going to handle them yet but I don't want to cancel them. I guess we will see what happens between now and then.

    Hi Maria,

I am a 46yo female, newly divorced, planning a solo cruise in Oct 2015 on the CCL Sunshine. Which ship will you be on in Oct 2015?

  6. Da Party Bus should be a blast. This will be my fourth singles cruise. The age group on this one is late twenties to sixties. This is the smallest group that I've ever sailed with. Halloween is the largest group and we had over 600 last year. The ages on the Halloween cruise is from the twenties to the seventies. Singles cruises are a lot of fun. We have group excursions. theme nights and open bar cocktail parties.

I would never write a review after reading yours. :D Besides, I don't have the patience to write a review.

Could you do a quick review on Da Party Bus tour? I am scheduled for the tour in 2 weeks and it looks great.

  7. Hello,

6 of us rented ATVs and ran aruond the island last week. They fill you up and give you a brief tour of how to use and off you go.

I'd say, you'd need to have a good sense of direction and know where you want to go if you were looking to choose this. The port is pretty far away from Mahi Beach and if your very adventurous and want to make it over to orient beach too, its a bit of a trek. We got slowed down with some rain and got a little lost in one spot, but overall, it led us to some gorgeous views.

Your driving around doing 60-70 km/hr so make sure you know what your doing out there.

Helmets were provided for your safety but there is alot of traffic and stuff no the main roads.

    GL!

Your title says Barbados, but are you actually referring to St. Maarten? Also, did you just rent the ATVs yourself, not with a tour group like ATV Island Tour and Orient Beach (see http://stmaartencruiseexcursions.com/ATVStMaarten.htm)? I am looking for a review of this tour. Thanks for your help.

  8. Has anyone been on this? Is it worth going on? Looks a good trip to me.

    Just a thought!! :)

Trying again to see if neilrod will reply and give us a review of this excursion. :D

  9. I think his tour includes a light lunch so that may explain the higher price. I went on his tour s few years ago, and it was excellent. Also went on Papa Bear's. Both are good, but they covered different parts of the island so hard to compare.

I read somewhere online that the St Thomas Historical Trust endorses Caribbean Historical Tours because of the accuracy of his information. I think he may be the only one they endorse.

Thanks for the info about the endorsement. That is good to hear.

  10. Ever been on this tour? I've read great reviews on Trip Advisor but I just wanted to get other opinions. The tours they do are a little different than those offered by Godfrey and Sunny, but I have not seen any other comments or reviews other than on Trip Advisor. They are a little more expensive than the other tours, so I am a little hesitant to book with them.

Any input would be appreciated! :)
