Regarding scanning of cards Uniworld use them you scan when you leave the ship and on your return helps staff to check on computer that everyone is on board before departure card is also used to enter your state room

We travelled with Uniworld from Amsterdam to Istanbul May last year The passports were taken after we left Vienna as we were entering Eastern Europe including Hungary

If you have travelled with uniworld before you can get 1 upgrade free assuming there is a vacancy so if you want to move from cl5 to cl3 you would pay one upgrade and get the other free check with your travel agent we got discounts and privileges because we had travelled with Trafalgar and Insight ( part of the Red Carnation group)

We were on river duchess in May there are two sets of cafe style set ups at rear of dining room set up is 4/2/4 this might suit your large group as earlier respondent posted a couple might have to commandeer these tables while the others attend port talk

Thanks for your responses I have a problem getting MOH to wear anything other than tracksuit pants or shorts even for a wedding and we don't frequent formal events

Am packing for our Uniworld river cruise next week have read on some posts that jeans are not acceptable for men to wear to dinner how about smart black jeans and collared shirt MOH will bring 1 pr smart trousers for special nights 1 black jeans 1 blue jeans and shorts for warmer days with collared or polo shirts or do I go out and buy another pr of smart trousers

Yes my husband & I will be travelling with uniworld from April 28th on grand European voyage from Amsterdam to Istanbul. it will be our first cruise of any kind. Why uniworld? They offered a two for one deal too good to pass on
