Formal Night Aboard the Jewel - Med. Cruise

We have never sailed with NCL. As I understand it, there is no "formal" night designated while cruising the Med. Having said that, our family will be celebrating a very special birthday (on the only sea day) and we are considering having the men in our family wear their tuxedos.

Would this be appropriate?

All NCL ships have at least one OPTIONAL formal night on their cruises. You can dress up if you like. You will find that only about 40% of the people actually do dress up, but those that do range from shirt/tie to suits to tuxes. So it would be fine. That is the joy of Freestyle.....the choice to dress as you want.

When we were on the Star this summer, I saw people dress up every night even though it wasn't formal night. A lot of families, ours included, dressed up on another night for our formal pictures. The line is so long on the optional formal night, that it was much quicker and less hectic to do it another night. So even if your party does not hit on the true optional formal night, feel free to dress up any night!
