4kitties Posted August 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2011 Has anyone done this itinerary? How far into the "rivers" does the ship sail? Scenic? Would you recommend this itinerary? Many thanks for any and all advice!
KyleSS Posted August 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2011 We did the Rivers of Western Europe in the fall of 2011. If I remember correctly we sailed about 70 miles up the river Garonne to Bordeaux and about the same distance up the Seine to Rouen. It was a wonderful cruise and we might be tempted to do it again if they put on of the "big sister" on this itinerary again.
Rare clarky Posted August 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2011 We did this cruise in 2009 and it is one of the best cruises we have done. Will never forget cruising up the river to Bordeaux sipping champagne in the spa while waving to people from their houses along the river. Very beautiful scenery and a cruise I highly recommend to everyone. One of the other highlights was an evening dinner at a local chateau where the owner greeted us and then took us on a tour of his cellar, we then enjoyed a wonderful meal with wines from his private cellar to match each course. Really so many highlights I could go on and on.
