Here is some info. My wife is confined to a manual wheelchair. We were given special assistance boarding in San Francisco and escorted to our room, a balcony room on the Penthouse deck. There is a small lip going into the room that should be no problem, but there is a much larger lip going to the balcony that nobody by themselves could get over, but can be done pretty easily with help. There is room behind the door to easily store either a manual or a power chair, just bring a power strip if you need to charge the battery. The bathroom is plenty big with a roll-in shower, pull down bench and a hand held shower. The sink is high enough to roll a wheelchair easily under and there are bars for the toilet.

Our ports were Victoria, Juneau, Skagway, Icy Straits, Sitka and Ketchikan.

We rented a car for the day in Victoria from Budget. They picked us up at the dock and returned us at the end of the day, no problem. In Juneau we went whale watching with Capt. Larry of Orca Enterprises. They have a handicapped van to transport to the dock and will help the person into the boat. Later this year they will have a fully ADA boat they told us. In Skagway we booked the train ride which picked us up right in front of the ship and they have a lift to get into the car. Icy Straits was a tender port; my wife elected to remain onboard but could have easily taken the tender. Sitka is also a tender port and they had no trouble getting her down to the platform and into the tenders. John of Tribal Tours accomodated us on the dock with a ride to the Raptor Center and pickup later. The van wasn't handicapped but he helped get my wife in and out each time. We took a Misty Fjords plane ride in Ketchican with Island Wings and Michele the lovely pilot. Her driver Jerry picked us up at the cruise ship dock, but didn't have a handicapped van. He picked up my wife and put her into the front seat. He and another employee picked her up the three small steps into the 6-seat plane and she had a great time. No problem in getting back to the ship either. I can't recommend either Capt. Larry or Michele enough. And Celebrity is fabulous with wheelchair passengers. They insisted on pushing my wife whenever they saw her coming to a show or a meal. If you are handicapped you will really like how you are treated by Celebrity.
