Galveston Limo Service

We're cruising on the Conquest and are looking for transportation from IAH to Galveston. We have a group of about 28 people and were considering contracting a mini bus through a limo service. Has anybody used or heard of Advantage Limousine or Royal Carriages? And what was your experience with them.

No, but I do have some information about a shuttle service we used. The service apparently uses vans that are not permitted by the airport. We received phone calls from the owner telling us that their "regular" van was in the shop and to tell security a friend "Paul" was picking us up. We were directed to the passenger car pick up area. We had two groups use the service and each time we were given the same info. Being from out of state we didn't realize what was going on at first. The first group went through without a hitch, perhaps because it was late at night and a smaller group. The second group was held up by security when questioned. They arrived on Sunday afternoon. The van did not have the proper permits and did not have any insurance to carry passengers. Security was very upset and told the driver they could be cited for up to 27 violations (3 for every pax). He gave the driver 3 citations instead. We were held up for 30 minutes. We did make it to the ship on time, and their service was helpful and friendly. However, we never did receive a straight answer on wether or not the business is operating legally or not. We used the same service returning because we had already booked and didn't know who else to use on such a short notice. Everything ended up working out o.k., but it was definately stressfull

Thanks for the input, I'll keep that in mind. Sounds like something wasn't quite on the up and up but at least you made to the ship on time and back home again. Jus thope we don't get taken too.
