Car rental- San Juan

Has anybody rented a car in San Juan?

How's the traffic? We have two days pre-cruise and the day we come back ,our flight leaves at 6PM. We are going to have a lot of luggage (6 people)and we probably are going to be too tired to go on another excursion. Is the car rental a good option?

We rented a car in San Juan several years ago. It's no worse than any larger city. The rental agency gave us a map. Be sure you know enough Spanish to know east, west, north, and south. We made it to the Rain Forest and the Barcardi Factory with only a few wrong turns. We even ventured into Old San Juan. Parking was the problem there but we finally found a public parking lot. During one trip there we took public transportation from the Wyndham Hotel in Old San Juan to the mall. That was an adventure but that is what vacation is for. Have fun.
