Golf Cruise in the Caribbean

Recommended Posts

A group of us are looking to take a cruise next summer (July-August 2008 timeframe) in the Southern or Eastern caribbean to play golf.

Any suggestions?

It looks like only RC and Carnival cruise the area those months. (we are limited to those months as one is a school teacher).

Check out CAN-CRUISE.com. They sell for GolfAhoy and Carribean Cruise Lines. They will be able to set everything up for you and your guests. For the non golfers, there is also spa treatments. Good luck.

If you want to pay big money to GolfAhoy have at it or go direct to Carnival and pay them direct - CarnivalGolf.com

Good Luck

Hi Cruisegolfer,

Bring a pocket full of money for there is no cheap golf in the Carib. Don't know where you are sailing from, but you might want to consider leaving from Florida and going down a few days early, golf til you drop, then kick back on a nice 5-7 day cruise and relax.

Mahogany Run in St. Thomas very nice. You can rent golf clubs on Carnival and they are good sets. We got brand new Nike clubs in April on Liberty. Most Islands have golf courses and Carnival has golf instructors on most Caribbean ships.

With the Celebrity ships I have been on they had a pro and simulator. The pros were very good and gave lessons for a fee in the simulator which were equipped with launch monitor and other training aids. They usually have a few free clinics throughout the cruise as well. The club rental on board at that time was Nike as was most of the equipment for rent or sale. The one bonus in the past when you booked golf shore excursions the Pro accommpanied you on the excursion and divided his playing time equally with the groups so you got the benifit of tips and instruction during some of your round.

With the changes over the past few years I don't know if this is still the case or not but I will be checking into play while on the Galaxy March 2nd sailing to the Southern Caribbean. Again as was mentioned above most golf in the Caribbean can be expensive.

Good luck.
